Government approves ISRO's Venus mission "Shukrayaan"
## Venus Orbiter is planned to be launched in March 2028 and will cost approximately Rs 1,236 crore. ## Chandrayaan 4, the follow-up mission of Chandrayaan 3, has also been proposed by ISRO, which will not only land on the moon but will also return with soil and rock samples. ## Chandrayaan 4 mission will be a joint project between India and Japan.

NADA suspends Bajrang Punia for four years for
violation of anti-doping code ## Tokyo Olympic Games bronze medallist wrestler Bajrang Punia has been suspended for four years for refusing to provide a urine sample for anti-doping testing during the national team trials in March 2024. ## The Indian wrestler will not only be unable to participate in events but also can't take up coaching roles till the end of the suspension period. ## National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) headquarters: New Delhi ## NADA Director General: Ashish Bhargava Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire begins in Lebanon ## A ceasefire between Israel and the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah in Lebanon appeared to be holding after it came into effect at 4 a.m. (local time) on 27 November 2024. ## Under the agreement, over the next 60 days, the Lebanese Army and state security forces will take control once again, and Israel will gradually withdraw its remaining forces. ## The ceasefire doesn't cover the ongoing fighting in Gaza between Israel and Hamas. Indian Chemical Council wins ‘2024 OPCW The Hague Award’ ## The Indian Chemical Council, an apex body representing the Indian chemical Industry, was conferred with the ‘2024 Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) The Hague Award’ in the Hague, Netherlands, on 25 November 2024. ## The Director General of the Indian Chemical Council, D. Sothi Selvam, received the award. ## The award was presented during the 29th Session of the Conference of the States Parties (CSP), held from 25-29 November 2024. ## The CSP includes 193 countries that are members of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. Government launches 'Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat' campaign to eradicate child marriage ## The 'Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat’ campaign was launched by the Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Annpurna Devi in New Delhi on 27 November 2024. ## The minister also unveiled the 'Child Marriage Free Bharat' portal to support the campaign's mission by raising public awareness against child marriage, preventing child marriage, and reporting incidents of child marriage. ## The campaign will focus on 130 districts of the country where the incidence of child marriage is very high. Government extends Atal Innovation Mission till 31st March 2028 ## The newly expanded and approved mission has been named ‘Atal Innovation Misson 2.0'. ## The budget of the Atal Innovation Mission 2.0 is Rs.2,750 crore. ## Note: The Atal Innovation Mission was launched by the government of India in 2016 under the NITI Aayog to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in the country. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launches ‘The TeacherApp’ ## ‘The TeacherApp’ is an innovative digital platform developed by Bharti Airtel Foundation to empower educators with the skills required to meet the evolving demands of 21st-century classrooms. ## The platform, unveiled at the India Habitat Centre, Delhi, aims to elevate the education sector by providing teachers with over 260 hours of high-quality digital content, including courses, videos, podcasts, live expert sessions, and more. Union Cabinet approves ‘One Nation One Subscription’ scheme ## One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) scheme will have a budget of ₹6,000 crore budget for 2025-2027. ## This will provide seamless access to over 13,000 international journals for 1.8 crore students, faculty, and researchers across 6,300 government institutions. India’s first green hydrogen fuelling station to be set up in Leh ## Amara Raja Infra, part of the $2 billion Amara Raja Group, has completed the setup of India’s first green hydrogen fuelling station in Leh, Ladakh, for NTPC Ltd. ## The station is designed to produce 80 kg of green hydrogen daily. ## Located in Leh, at an altitude of 3,400 meters, the station was inaugurated by Union Power Minister Manohar Lal. The 12th edition of the International Tourism Mart held in Assam ## Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat inaugurated the 12th Edition of the International Tourism Mart at Kaziranga in Assam. ## It highlights the tourism potential of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim.
