CONSUMER ACT
(R.A 7394)
It is the policy of the State to protect the interests of the consumer, promote his
general welfare and to establish standards of conduct for business and industry.
• protection against hazards to health and safety;
• protection against deceptive, unfair and unconscionable sales acts and practices;
• provision of information and education to facilitate sound choice and the proper
exercise of rights by the consumer;
• provision of adequate rights and means of redress; and
• involvement of consumer representatives in the formulation of social and
economic policies.
TRADITIONAL AND ALTERNATIVE
MEDICINES ACT
(R.A 8423)

"Traditional and Alternative Medicine Act (TAMA)” law was


enacted. The law recognizes the importance of traditional and
alternative medicine in providing health care to the people.
RESPONSIBLE PARENTHOOD AND
REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH ACT
(R.A 10354)
A responsible parenthood is simply defined as the “will” and ability of
parents to respect and do the needs and aspirations of the family and children.
It is the ability of a parent to detect the need, happiness and desire of the
children and helping them to become responsible and reasonable children
A legislation that guarantees and enables measures for the sexual and
reproductive rights of women, men, young people and families through
comprehensive and accessible reproductive health care services, including
family planning.
PHILIPPINE AIDS PREVENTION AND
CONTROL ACT
(R.A 8504)
An act promulgating policies and prescribing measures for the prevention
and control of HIV/AIDS in the Philippines, instituting a nationwide
HIV/AIDS information and educational program, establishing a
comprehensive HIV/AIDS monitoring system, strengthening the Philippine
National Aids Council, and for other purposes.
COMPREHENSIVE DANGEROUS ACT
(R.A 9165)
Any act of introducing any dangerous drug into the body of any person,
with or without his/her knowledge, by injection, inhalation, ingestion or other
means, or of committing any act of indispensable assistance to a person in
administering a dangerous drug to himself/herself unless administered by a
duly licensed practitioner for purposes of medication.
TOBACCO REGULATION ACT
(R.A 9211)
is an omnibus law regulating smoking in public places, tobacco advertising,
promotion and sponsorship, and sales restrictions, among other requirements.
• Promote a healthful environment;
• Inform the public of the health risks associated with cigarette smoking and
tobacco use;
• Regulate and subsequently ban all tobacco advertisements and sponsorships;
• Regulate the labeling of tobacco products;
• Protect the youth from being initiated to cigarette smoking and tobacco use
by prohibiting the sale of tobacco products to minors;
• Assist and encourage Filipino tobacco farmers to cultivate alternative
agricultural crops to prevent economic dislocation; and
• Create an Inter-Agency Committee on Tobacco (IAC-Tobacco) to oversee
the implementation of the provisions of this Act.
CYBERCRIME PREVENTION ACT
(R.A 10175)
The Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 is a law in the Philippines that
seeks to combat cybercrime by providing a legal framework for investigating,
prosecuting, and punishing online offenses.
ANTI-CHILD PORNOGRAPHY ACT
(R.A 9775)
otherwise known as the Anti-Child Pornography Act of 2009. (b) "Child"
refers to a person below eighteen (18) years of age or over but is unable to fully
take care of, or protect, himself/herself from abuse, neglect, cruelty,
exploitation or discrimination because of a physical or mental disability or
condition.
NATIONAL BLOOD SERVICES ACT
(R.A 7719)
also known as the National Blood Services Act of 1994, promotes
voluntary blood donation to provide sufficient supply of safe blood and to
regulate blood banks. This act aims to inculcate public awareness that blood
donation is a humanitarian act.
ANTI-HAZING LAW
(R.A 8049)
otherwise known as the Anti-Hazing Law, marks a significant milestone in
Philippine legislation. While hazing has been practiced as a form of initiation
by various organizations, particularly fraternities and sororities, R.A. 8049
makes it illegal under specific circumstances.
NATIONAL ENVIRONMENT
AWARENESS AND EDUCATION ACT
(R.A 9512)
the National Environmental Awareness and Education Act of 2008,
articulates that the state shall promote national awareness of the role of natural
resources in economic growth and the importance of environmental
conservation and ecological balance towards sustained national development.
SEATS BELTS USE ACT
(R.A 8750)
It mandates the installation and use of adult seat belts in the front and rear
seats of any private motor vehicle. Fifty-four percent of all injuries in the
Philippines occur in the streets. Each day in the country, about 65 individuals
die and 60 others are injured due to vehicular accidents.
ANTI-DRUNK AND DRUGGED
DRIVING LAW
(R.A 10586)
or the Anti-Drunk and Drugged Driving Act of 2013, penalizes people
driving under the influence of alcohol, dangerous drugs, and similar substances.
It aims to protect citizens' lives and properties by promoting responsible and
ethical driving.
