Introduction

DAV SPORTS, an initiative of DAV College

Managing Committee, conceptualized by the
Honorable President Dr. Punam Suri Ji PadamShree
Awardee and supported by the Ministry of Youth
Affairs and Sports, Government of India serves as a
cornerstone for Empowering DAVians and
unlocking their sports & physical potential.
Objective ~ Maximizing Potential

Beyond the realm of competition, DAV

SPORTS is driven by a broader objective of
holistic development. While honing sports
prowess is paramount, the initiative also
seeks to instill core values such as
discipline, teamwork, and resilience in
every player. Aiming at the Holistic
Development, DAV SPORTS is committed
to nurture individuals who are not only
proficient in their respective sports but also
equipped with the skills and qualities
necessary for success in life beyond the
playing fields.
Pathway to Excellence
 At the heart of DAV SPORTS lies a
meticulously designed pathway aimed at
nurturing and propelling budding sports
players & athletes towards their skill sets
and talents in more than 900 DAV
Institutions pan India in 30 Sports and
Games events .
 This comprehensive program boasts an
intricate organizational framework
comprising 63 clusters, 16 states (zones),
and 52 cluster In-charges & State
coordinators providing a robust platform
for nurturing sporting excellence across
India.

This journey begins within the competitive

environment of each cluster where DAV School teams
directly played for supremacy, with their outstanding
performances to advance to state-level competitions.
From there, the journey escalates to the National
Level, where the combined teams from schools and
clusters promising talents represented their regions
with pride and determination.

National Venues and Dates

 The National DAV SPORTS events for

Girls & Boys in all the three categories
U14/U17/U19 were conducted at
various prestigious DAV Schools as
Venues for national level.
 From the bustling city of New Delhi to
the vibrant landscapes of Haryana and
Uttar Pradesh, these events captured the
essence of India's rich sporting culture.
The competitions took place on January
4-5, 2024, for girls and January 7-8,
2024, for boys, marking a significant
milestone in the sporting calendar.

 The session 2023-24 witnessed remarkable
participation levels across all tiers of the DAV
SPORTS program.
 At the cluster and state levels, an impressive
55,000 DAVians each participated, reflecting the
widespread engagement and enthusiasm for sports
within the DAV at Cluster and State level.
 At the pinnacle of the program, the national level
competitions saw a total of 13,426 participants,
comprising 7,705 boys and 5,721 girls, showcasing
the diverse talent pool and gender inclusivity within
the initiative.

Out of the winners of all games events a

stronger, richer and promising team of DAV
Team Eleven was created by the members
special committee composed of observers,
sports officials, Principal Host schools, Special
Sports Nominee, cluster in charges and state
coordinators to represent at National and
International Sports platforms/Opportunities.

How to reach India Team

Accolade & Achievements

 The medal tally at the national level

showcased the remarkable talent and
competitive spirit of DAVians.
 A total of 1,560 gold medals were
awarded across various age categories
and girls and boys, with 495 earned by
U14 players, 534 by U17 players, and
531 by U19 players. This distribution
underscored the depth of talent and the
progression of skills as sports stars
advanced through the age groups.

State Rankings

 The state rankings provided insight

into the competitive landscape of
DAV SPORTS, with Haryana
emerging as the overall champion
with an impressive tally of 1,342
points.
 Punjab and Jharkhand secured the
first and second runner-up positions
with a score of 710 and 694
respectively further highlighting the
states' commitment to nurturing
sporting talent and achieving
excellence on the national stage.

Awards and Felicitation

 The culmination of the DAV SPORTS season

was marked by a grand felicitation
ceremony, where winners of the National
Level competitions were honored for their
outstanding achievements.
 Each winner received a cash prize of Rs.
5,100 as a token of recognition for their
dedication and hard work.

The ceremony, held on April 20, 2024, on the

Mahatma Hansraj Day, added a symbolic
significance to the occasion with a SPORTS
SCHOLARSHIP of Rs. 81,60,000/- (Eighty One
lac sixty thousand only).

Fifteen hundred and sixty DAV Sports Star were

felicitated on 20th April 2024 on the occasion of
Mahatma Hansraj Day Celebration at Panipat.

the organizing venue host schools were
awarded financial assistance from the
DAVCMC Sports Department thus
making it Rs. 7,25,000/- (seven lacs
twenty five thousand).

International Yoga Day Celebration ~ 21st June 2024

Amongst 900+ DAV Institutions accross India

celebrated International Yoga Day with
enthusiasm and spirit of physical fitness to
mark Fit India Movement of Ministry of Youth
Affairs and Sports, Govt. Of India.
More than ONE LAKH students performed at
the school venues and were felicitated with
certificate of participation by their institutions.
My City My Run

Under the flagship of My City My Run Half

Marathon, Mini Marathon, Run for Fun is
proposed to be organized in all the cities of
the country where DAV owns its Flagship
with the purpose Healthy Youth and
Healthy India.
