I. Objectives
A. Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding of: African literature as a means of exploring
forces that human beings contend with; various reading styles vis-à-vis purposes of reading; prosodic
features that serve as carriers of meaning; ways by which information may be organized, related, and
delivered orally; and parallel structures and cohesive devices in presenting information.
B. Performance Standard: The learner transfers learning by composing and delivering an informative speech
based on a specific topic of interest keeping in mind the proper and effective use of parallel structures and
cohesive devices and appropriate prosodic features, stance, and behavior.
C. Competencies:
1. Identify the different elements of a narrative. EN8LT-Ie-2.2
2. Brainstorm to generate ideas. EN8WC-Ic-1.1
3. Brainstorm for the given output/task for better understanding. EN8WC-Id-1.1

Materials: Visual aids (pictures, story map, elements of narrative charts), audio story, speaker
III. Procedure
A. Classroom Routine
Greetings, prayer, checking of attendance and cleanliness of the room
B. Recall
Call one student to give a brief review of the activities done the previous meeting.
Visual aids should be presentable and readable and must contain the essential
concepts/information about their assigned topic.
All members must present and should have a significant role in the reporting.
All members must master their topic; the audience may ask questions when the reporting is
done.
The group may use their creativity in presenting or delivering their report.
Each group is given 40 minutes to report including the answering of questions and/or clarifying
some concepts.
D. Reporting Proper
Each group is called to present their topic.
F. Generalization
Call one representative from each group to share something about his or her experience in making and
in delivering the report. Also, call others to share to the class the important things they learned from
each group’s topic.
IV. Evaluation
Paper-pen test (1/2 lengthwise)
A. Elements of a Narrative: Identify the following.
