Mozart’s Influence

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) was one of the most influential, popular, and

productive composers of the classical period. He composed more than 600 works, including

some of the most famous and beloved works of symphonic, chamber, operatic and choral music.

Mozart was born in Salzburg in a family of musicians. The young Mozart showed all the signs of

a wonderful musical talent from an early age. At the age of five, he could read and write music

and entertain people with his talent on the keyboard. At the age of six, he wrote his first

compositions. Mozart was generally considered a rare musical genius, although Mozart is said to

have diligently studied other great composers such as Haydn and Bach. This paper discusses

Mozart's influence on classical music and why his music is still popular today, in addition to

which genre of his is preferably listenable to the most, such as piano music, chamber music,

serenades, symphonies, and operas.

Mozart's compositions were like a whirlwind of innovation and research in his life. He

composed in several genres, including symphony, opera, solo concerto, chamber music including

string quartet and string quintet, and piano sonata. These forms were not new, but Mozart

developed their technical sophistication and emotional dimension. Mozart wrote in all the

popular genres of his time and excelled in all of them. He wrote several successful operas,

including The Marriage of Figaro (1786), Don Giovanni (1787), and The Magic Flute (1791).

His last symphony, the Jupiter Symphony, is perhaps his most famous. Mozart completed the

Jupiter Symphony in 1788, just three years before his death. At his death, the Requiem in D

minor K 626 remained unfinished, but was later completed by Mozart's student Franz Xaver

Süssmayr. It evokes deep sadness and reminds people of God's great power to give and take.

Mozart was not a revolutionary musician. He rarely experimented with musical form, and he

often recycled successful structural forms in his work. In short, Mozart did not renew his work,

but mastered it. He improved the existing forms and thus raised the symphony, sonata, and opera

to new heights. His later compositions particularly highlight his versatility and ability as a

musician and his ability to convey emotions through music. Ludwig van Beethoven, Mozart's

immediate successor, expanded his work. Unlike Mozart, Beethoven was not opposed to forming

experiments. Mozart's music had a significant influence on the classical era. His compositions

became the cornerstone of the classical style, which influenced many composers who followed

him. His music was known for its beauty, technical command, and emotional depth. His

symphonies, sonatas and operas set new standards in composition that have been admired and

imitated by generations of composers. Today, Mozart's music continues to be revered. His works

are regularly performed in concert halls around the world and his music is often used in films,

television, and other media. His compositions are also widely studied in music education

programs and his influence on classical music is widely known. Mozart's music also permeated

popular culture. His compositions have appeared in many films, commercials, and television

shows. His music has been adapted into various genres and styles, showing his timeless appeal

and universal sound. Listening to Mozart's music is an experience that can be both profound and
