ABSTRACT

We hereby aim to design, develop and fabricate the vehicle which can dig the soil, sow the seeds;
leveler to close the soil and pump to spray water, these whole systems of the vehicle works with
the battery and solar power, the vehicle is controlled by toggle switch. In recent years the
development of the autonomous vehicles in the agriculture has experienced increased interest.
The advantages of these vehicles are hands-free and fast input operations. In the field of
agricultural autonomous vehicle, a concept is been developed to investigate if multiple small
autonomous machine could be more efficient than traditional large tractors and human forces.
Keeping the above ideology in mind, a unit with the following feature is designed; Ploughing is
one of the first steps in farming. During this process we till the land and make it ready for the
seed sowing. By tilling we mean that plough will be used which will have teethes like structure at
the end and will be able to turn the top layer of soil down and vice-avers. Seed sowing comes
next where the seeds need to be put in ground at regular intervals and these needs to be controlled
automatically. Limiting the flow of seeds from the seeds chamber is typically doing this. soil
leveler is fitted to close the seeds to the soil and to level the ground
INTRODUCTION

Agriculture is the backbone of India. The history of Agriculture in India dates back to Indus
Valley Civilization Era and even before that in some parts of Southern India. Today, India
ranks second worldwide in farm output. The special vehicles plays a major role in various
fields such as industrial, medical, military applications etc., The special vehicle field are
gradually increasing its productivity in agriculture field. Some of the major problems in the
Indian agricultural are rising of input costs, availability of skilled labors, lack of water
resources and crop monitoring. To overcome these problems, the automation technologies
were used in agriculture. The automation in the agriculture could help farmers to reduce their
efforts. The vehicles are being developed for the processes for ploughing, seed sowing,
leveling, water spraying. All of these functions have not yet performed using a single vehicle
. In this the robots are developed to concentrate in an efficient manner and also it is expected
to perform the operations autonomously. The proposed idea implements the vehicle to
perform the functions such as ploughing, seed sowing, mud leveling, water spraying. These
functions can be integrated into a single vehicle and then performed.
LITERATURE REVIEW

The economic contribution of agriculture in India’s GDP is continuously decreasing

with the country’s broad-based economic growth. Still, agricultural research and development
(R&D) in India has made impressive contribution in the past. But the system is under
significant stress today due to lack of clarity on focus and inefficient use of financial
resources. Links among sister institutions have weakened and accountability has declined
over time. Ramesh D; This research paper present “Agriculture Seed Sowing Equipment: A
Review”. The present review provides brief information about the various types of
innovations in seed sowing equipment. The basic objective of sowing operation is to put the
seed and the fertilizer in rows at desired depth and seed to seed spacing, cover the seeds with
soil and provide proper compaction over the seed. Kannan A: This research paper presents
design modification in multipurpose sowing machine which describes the sowing purpose
and the import of the machinery, which are bulk in size having more cost. To prevent this
they design multipurpose sowing machine which consists of hopper, seed metering
mechanism, ground wheel, power transmission system, seed distributor, and tiller Backpack
sprayer which can be carried on the operator back, having tank capacity aslarge as 20 liters. A
hand lever is continuously operated to maintain the pressure which makes the backpack
sprayers output more uniform than that of a handheld sprayers. Basic low cost backpack
sprayer will generate only low pressure and lack feature such as high-pressure pumps,
pressure adjustment control (regulator) and pressure gauge found on commercial grade units.
The engine operated sprayers typically produce more consistent sprayer’s outputs, covers the
sprays swath more uniformly, operate at constant speed and results in much more uniform
coverage than the hand spraying.

REASON FOR SELECTING THE PROBLEM

Lack of mechanization in farming

Required excess efforts for different process.

Required more man power.

Excess time consumption for performing individual process.

OBJECTIVES

The objective of this paper is to present the status of the current trends and
implementation of Agricultural and autonomous systems and outline the potential for
future applications. Different applications of autonomous vehicles in agriculture have been
examined and compared with conventional systems and are proved as efficient and
effective

 To reduce human effort in the agricultural field with the use of small robot.

 To perform al at single time, hence increases production and saves time.

 To complete large amount of work in less time.

 Farmer can operate this robot through remote by sitting at one side and he can
operate easily.

 The usage of solar can be utilized for Battery charging. As the Robot works in the
field, the rays of the sun can be used for solar power generation.

 To increase the efficiency, the solar power is used and the Power output can be
increased.

Methodology

A solar-powered seed sowing machine is an innovative agricultural tool that leverages

renewable energy to automate seed sowing, enhancing efficiency and reducing labor costs.
Here's a comprehensive methodology for designing and developing such a machine:

Design and Development Methodology

1. Problem Identification and Needs Assessment: Conduct surveys and interviews with
farmers to understand their pain points and requirements.
2. Literature Review: Research existing seed sowing machines, solar-powered systems, and
agricultural automation.
3. System Design: Design the machine's architecture, including the solar panel, battery,
motor, and seed sowing mechanism.
Possible Outcomes

1. Increased Agricultural Efficiency

The machine automates the seed-sowing process, saving time and labor.

Improved precision in seed placement and depth leads to better germination rates.
2. Reduced Environmental Impact
By using renewable solar energy, the machine reduces dependency on fossil fuels, lowering
greenhouse gas emissions.
Promotes sustainable farming practices.

3. Cost Savings
Reduced energy costs as it operates on solar power.
Decreases manual labor requirements, lowering overall farming expenses.

4. Improved Yield Quality

Consistent seed spacing and depth improve plant growth uniformity, leading to higher crop
quality and yield.

5. Economic Empowerment for Farmers

Enables small and medium-scale farmers to adopt advanced agricultural technologies.
Supports rural farmers in areas with limited access to conventional energy sources.

6. Enhanced Accessibility
Operates effectively in remote or off-grid areas, making advanced agricultural methods
accessible in developing regions.

7. Reduction in Manual Labor

Reduces physical strain on farmers, freeing up time for other farming activities or personal
needs.

8. Weather Dependency
The reliance on solar power might pose challenges in areas with inconsistent sunlight,
potentially requiring backup energy systems.

9. Technological Advancement
Encourages innovation in farming equipment, paving the way for more sophisticated and
sustainable agricultural technologies.

10. Contribution to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Supports goals like zero hunger (SDG 2), affordable and clean energy (SDG 7), and climate
action (SDG 13).
