Instructions
The question paper consists of 3 parts: 29 questions in total and 1 bonus question.
Part 1: Questions no. 1 – 12, each correct answer is worth 4 points,
1 point for each blank answer, and 0 point for each incorrect answer.
Part 2: Questions no. 13 – 24, each correct answer is worth 6 points,
1.5 points for each blank answer, and 0 point for each incorrect answer.
Part 3: Questions no. 25 – 29, each correct answer is worth 7 points,
and 0 point for each incorrect or blank answer.
Bonus Question (Student may or may not give the answer)
A correct answer is worth 20 points.
An incorrect answer is deducted 7 points and 0 point for blank answer.

26. Let a, b, c, d be real numbers and p, q prime numbers such that
a and b are roots of the equation x 2 + px + 1 = 0,

c and d are roots of the equation x + qx + 1 = 0.
If (a − c)(b − c)(a + d )(b + d ) = 10197 , then find p 2 + q 2 .

27. Given that L is a line that passes through point (20, 22) and (25, 65).
If m and n are positive integer such that n > 1000 , which makes the
graph of the line L also pass through the point (m, n) , then find the smallest
possible value of m + n .

28. For any positive integers n , f (n) is a unit digit of 7 n .


Given that I , T , M , C are positive integers such that
I < T < M < C and f ( I ) < f (T ) < f ( M ) < f (C ) .
If I + T + M + C = 2022 and the value of C is as least as possible,
then find the largest possible value of T .

29. For any positive integers n, a notation n! denotes the product of all
positive integers from 1 to n, i.e., n! = 1 × 2 × 3 ×  × n .
For example, 4! = 1 × 2 × 3 × 4 = 24 .
Let m and n be positive integers are less than or equal to 100.
Find the number of all order pairs (m, n) such that m! + n ! is divisible
by 4.

Bonus Question no. 30. (Student may or may not give the answer)
• 20 points for the correct answer.

• -7 points for the incorrect answer.

In the case that an answer is not integral, students have to put the
nearest integral answer. Students have to answer the last five digits in
the case that the answer from calculating is more than 5 digits.

30. Let N be a positive integer.


There are N boxes, each containing a different number of coins from 1 to
N coins.
An operation is that we must select at least one box and take the same
number of coins from every selected box.
For example, assume that N = 100 , the first of the operation students may
select the boxes containing 10 to 100 coins and remove 10 coins from each of
the 91 selected boxes.
If it suffices to repeat an operation 7 times so that every coin is taken out
of every box, this will make all boxes to be empty, then find the maximum
value of N.
