GENERAL NOTES
The purpose of this manual is to provide to the authorized technical service all the
information necessary for installation, maintenance and techincal supor of the equipment.

Read the contents of this manual carefully before using the device. Failure to follow the
following operating instruction could place the patient or operator at risk.

1.1 CONVENTIONS OF THE DOCUMENT


The wording WARNING highlights the
procedures that must be followed scrupulously
to avoid damage to yourself, others, the system
or any component, loss of data or damage to
WARNING
software application files. Failure to follow
instructions marked with Caution can result in
abnormal operation.

"Important" includes essential information that


affects how you use this manual and the
IMPORTANT:
product.

Notes underline additional information, such as

1.2 SAFETY INFORMATION


Installation and maintenance must be carried out by
personnel of the manufacturer, SMAM srl or authorized by
it. The company therefore declines all responsibility
WARNING following interventions carried out by personnel other than
that mentioned above.
For installation, refer to the Easyslide Technical Manual

Do not modify the system. In general, modifications are


strictly prohibited by the statutory regulatory provisions of

Carry out periodic inspections. Maintenance is required to


maintain system safety and performance in the long term.
WARNING Chapter 7of this manual provides detailed descriptions of
system maintenance and inspection

Proceed with the cleaning and disinfection of the system


WARNING before the maintenance and inspection

SMAM is relieved of any liability in the main cases:

- improper use of the machine;

- use contrary to specific national regulations;

- incorrect installation;

- Absence of ordinary and extraordinary maintenance

- power supply defects;

- serious deficiencies in planned maintenance;

- unauthorized modifications and interventions;

- use of spare parts or materials not specific to the model;

- total or partial failure to comply with the instructions provided;

- exceptional events.

1.2.1 RADIATION PROTECTION

This device emits ionizing radiation for medical purposes: the X-ray source always represents
a danger, especially if the operator is not qualified and suitably informed. Excessive exposure
to X-rays causes damage to the body. Consequently, all precautions must be taken to prevent
unauthorized and unqualified people from using this equipment, thus creating a danger for
themselves and other people. The equipment must not be used for purposes other than
those for which it is intended.

Before carrying out any operation, the persons qualified and


authorized to use this equipment must be informed about
WARNING the protection measures established by the applicable
legislation for the safety of workers and patients exposed to
ionizing radiation. .

Laws restrict the use of this equipment to medical radiologists, radiology technicians, or
persons licensed by law for the use of diagnostic radiological equipment.

The type of radiation exposure that occurs with the use of this device can be divided into
two categories:
- professional, for operators
- diagnostic, for patients undergoing examination.
During the execution of X-ray examinations there is always a dispersion of radiation; this
makes one of the latter indispensable.
Before carrying out the examination, the radiologist / doctor
WARNING must always ascertain whether the patient to be examined is
pregnant.

If a person is to be next to the patient, they must wear

protective x-ray clothing

Additional protection from radiation dispersion can be achieved by using the manual
exposure button at least 2 metriaway from the X-ray beam. The length of the fully extended
coiled cable of the manual switch is approx 4 metri. If X-ray equipment is not used properly
it can cause injury. Consequently, these instructions must be read and understood in their
entirety before putting this equipment into operation. The Manufacturer will be happy to
offer the purchaser assistance and collaboration to put the equipment into operation.
Although this equipment provides a high level of protection against X-rays, in addition to
those of the useful beam, no operational precautions can guarantee absolute protection. It
will be up to the operator to take all safety measures necessary to avoid risks, personal and
others, deriving from incorrect or excessive exposure to radiation.

1.2.2 ELECTRICAL SAFETY

The company declines all responsibility if authorized


personnel do not comply with the requirements contained in

this manual for the performance of their duties.

To avoid the risk of electric shock, this appliance must only


be connected to power supply networks with protective
WARNING
earth. Do not connect the system to multiple sockets,
extension cords or overloaded electrical systems.

The device is not protected from the ingress of liquids, as in


its normal use it does not require the use of liquids. To avoid
WARNING
the risk of electric shock, do not use liquids near the device.

To avoid irreparable damage to some components, do not


carry out repetitive switching on of the appliance. After each
WARNING switching off the appliance, wait a few seconds before
switching it on again .

If anomalies and malfunctions occur, or if an unusual smell


or smoke is emitted during operation, immediately stop
WARNING using the system, disconnect the plug from the power supply
(it must always be accessible) and contact the SMAM service
center. The batteries inside the machine remain active.
Do not open the system covers, otherwise there is a risk of
electric shock. The covers can only be opened for
WARNING
maintenance by SMAM technical assistance personnel

The manufacturer declines all responsibility for the correct


WARNING operation of the machine in the event that its installation or
maintenance is carried out by unauthorized persons.

Do not open the outer covers of the machine. To avoid the


WARNING risk of electric shock, the covers must only be opened by
personnel of the technical service authorized by SMAM
.

1.2.3 ELECTROMAGNETIC COMPATIBILITY


PRECAUTIONS

This system requires special precautions in EMC.


Install and use the system according to the EMC information

All peripheral devices must meet the EMC standards
regarding the emission of electromagnetic energy
and susceptibility to the electromagnetic environment.

correct functioning of the system. In the worst case, this can
cause serious injury or clinical errors

1.2.4 PRECAUTIONS REGARDING CONNECTION WITH


AN EXTERNAL DEVICE

When using the system, only the following electrical devices


can be connected to:

- Potter connector: CE marked medical devices

1.2.5 NETWORK CONNECTION PRECAUTIONS

For the compatibility and security of the LAN connection,


refer to the manual of the digital display system.

1.2.6 PRIVACY

It is the responsibility of the sensitive data manager to regulate the use of the system and
access to its data (also via LAN or wi-fi network connection), for the purposes of privacy, data
security, protection from any computer viruses. which could damage your system. SMAM
declines any responsibility in this regard.

1.2.7 WARNINGS ON THE BATTERIES PRESENT IN THE


PANEL AND IN THE DEVICE

This product is assumed to pose no health or safety hazards or hazards when used as
intended. If the battery is damaged as a result of being opened, cut, shattered, or due to
overheating, improper installation, exposure to fire or high temperatures, or recharging, its
contents may be released. The materials contained in this battery pose a risk only if the
integrity of the battery is compromised or if the battery is physically or electrically damaged.
Do not open or disassemble. Do not expose to fire or open flame. Do not mix batteries of
various sizes, chemicals or types. Do not puncture, deform, burn or heat

1.2.8 DISPOSAL

The device complies with the WEEE Directives 2012/19 / EC and ROHS 2011/65 / EC (Waste
from Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive and Reduction of Hazardous Substances)
on the restriction of harmful substances and on waste electrical and electronic equipment.

For the panel follow the manufacturer's recommendations. The device cannot be disposed

1.2.9 REPORTS

In the event of any serious accident occurring in relation to the device, please send as detailed a
report as possible describing the event and the machine to the manufacturer and the competent
authority of the Member State where the user is established;

1.3 General safety and performance requirements


These devices are not intended to be used as PPE, therefore the requirements
defined by regulation (EU) 2016/425 (art.1, paragraph 6) are not applicable.
For motorized models, the applicability of the Requirements defined by Directive
2006/42 / EC has been verified, if these requirements are more specific than the
general safety and performance requirements established in Annex I, Chapter II, of
EU regulation 2017/745 (Article 1, point 6).
For the other models the directive 2006/42 / EC is not applicable.

4 INSTALLATION

4.1 SHIPMENT AND TRANSPORTATION

The equipment is normally shipped in cellophane.


If the equipment is shipped in a box, inside it is wrapped in pluriball sheets and fixed
using wood beams to prevent the equipment from moving during transportation. For
returns it may necessary to wrap the product as it was originally shipped.

4.2 UNPACK THE EQUIPMENT

To unpack the equipment, follow the procedure as indicated in the following photos:

1. Open the box by removing the front panel identified


by the label

2. Remove the platform and the


beams, removing the screws
visible from the outside of the box
3. Position the slide, inside the
box and slide out the equipment

4.2.1 CONNECTING AND STARTING UP


THE EQUIPMENT

The equipment does not need any particular installation, component connection,
calibration or data entry operation before use.

4.3 START-UP

Following the Start-up procedure:


1) Connect the power cable to the power supply.

DANGER: use the sockets protected by differential switch C = 16A, rated


residual current In = 30 mA, t = 0 s. The voltage and current power
supply must conform to the label requests.

2) Arm the main circuit breaker


WARNING: set the overload switch to ON always.
When set to OFF the power to the system is inhibited.

3) Switch-on the UPS


(the UPS is ready when you see on its display: 230 – 230)

4) Turn on the system by pushing the button

Press the blue button to the right of the


transport lever, under the monitor, to turn on
the PC. The image acquisition software will
start automatically. Once charging is
complete, the main window of Management
Examinations will be opened. From this
window the examinations will be settable,
using the touch screen console.

4.4 Digital software installation


For the installation and configuration of the software refer to the Software manual
provided

5 Maintenance and Periodical controls


Maintenance must be carried out by personnel of the
manufacturer, SMAM srl, or by personnel authorized by it.
WARNING The company therefore declines all responsibility following
interventions carried out by personnel other than that
mentioned above.

Be sure to perform periodic inspections in order to maintain


the safety and performance of the equipment even if nothing
WARNING unusual is found during the daily inspections. Otherwise, it
could cause serious accidents or significantly shorten the life
span of the system.

For periodic inspection of the collimator, refer to the

manufacturer's manual.

For periodic inspection of the digital panel, refer to the

For periodic inspection of the DAP, refer to the

The power supply cable can only be replaced by the SMAM


WARNING technical service.

5.1 Checks to be carried out by the manager of the


radiological facility and by the specialist in medical
physics or by the qualified expert in radiation protection

5.4.1 COLLIMATOR

Control A:

Switch on the machine and light the collimator lamp to verify the operation of the
light.
If the light does not work see the manufacturer’s manual.

Control B:

The collimator can rotate +/- 90° around the axis


of the x-ray beam. The collimator’s rotation travel
is limited by a mechanical stopper.
If the collimator does not rotate contact the dealer
of the machine.

Control C:
Verify that the collimator fixed to the monoblock does not
move in other ways than those foreseen. If so, work on the fastening nuts on the collimator
(see collimator manual)
Control D:
Verify that the light field matches the X-ray field following the instructions
indicated on the collimator manual.

5.4.2 X_RAY MONOBLOCK

Control A:

The rotation of the monoblock group on the horizontal axis is ±180°.

If the monoblock does not stay in the desired position work on the ring nut (detail
indicated by arrow) placed on the fork support to adjust the friction.

0° ÷ +90°.

Control B:
Verify that the handle does not move from its seat. If it
moves tighten the nuts and the fastening screws

5.4.3 ARM

Control A:
Verify that the arms keeps the vertical position for the entire travel up to the
maximum height foreseen (2 meters). If the arm does not keep the set vertical
position follow the sequent instruction:
• Remove the arm cover and the articulation cover. Follow the sequent steps:

A Take away the plug on the B Take away the C Unscrew the screw on the

Without the cover is possible to start the regulation.

• Loose the nuts to left and right, whit a 19mm


key

• Lose the nut but do not remove it

Tightly the nut whit a 16mm key and make the balance
regulation .
• Tight all the nut loosed before
• After this operation restore all the arms covers removed
before the balance adjust operation

NOTE: If after have tight to maximum tension the nut ,the arm do not take the
right position to balance IS NECESSARY TO REPLACE THE GAS SPRIG KIT

Check that the hook of the arm take the arm in block
position to the column the loose hooking is the cause of
deterioration of the components , is necessary to replace

5.4.4 CONTROLS PART 4


(TRANSPORTATION HANDLE)

Control A: Check that the unit do not move whit the transport
handle (Pos.3) in rest position ;for a good functionality can you
move the unit only whit a rotation of the handle to the floor.
If the condition of the brake system are no good maybe the iron
cord of the brake system are broken.

For replace the brake iron cord is necessary to


remove the cover of the unit.
After the remove of the cover for change the iron cord
of the brake is necessary:
• Loose the broken iron cord to unhook the
buttonhole A and C .
• For to adjust the new iron cord loose the nut B for A B
to slide the pulley in back .
• Adjust the new iron cord between the part B and
hooking the buttonhole A and C
• Move the part B for take in tension the iron cord
.Tight the screw for adjust the pulley in good
position.

NOTE: For have a good functionality of the brake is necessary to have a little
tension of the iron cord.

5.4.5 WHEELS

Control A:
Check whit all the movements of the front wheels (rotation and rolling condition) and
of the rear wheels (rotation), see the pictures 3 and 4 paragraph Mechanical parts.

To replace the front wheels loose the 4


screws indicated whit the arrows.

To replace or remove the rear wheels


is necessary remove the wheels cover
and loose the iron ring indicated whit
red arrow.
For remove or restore the wheel is
necessary to unhooking the brake.

5.5.1 POWER SYSTEM BATTERY


REPLACEMENT

Before proceeding with the batteries replaciment, make sure that the device is power
off. If the device is power, shut down it proceeding in this manner:
• keep the blue button of the PC hold down for more than one second. The
computer automatically execute the shutdown procedure. The procedure
finishes when the activity LED of the monitor signal the turning off with a
orange light.
• shutdown the UPS by pressing and holding for a few seconds the power
button, which is located under the frontal cover carter.
• unplug the power cord if it is plugged.

Using a tool, remove the cover carter located over the battery compartment by
removing the four screws that are located behind the arm stand and on the left and
on the right side of cover carter.

Disconnect the two


connectors on one side
of the UPS holder (see
the figure below).

Take care during this operation: press the locking tabs located at the bottom of the
connector body.
Insulate the connection between the batteries and the UPS by removing the gray
connector on the back of the holder.

At this point, the electrical connections between the batteries and the rest of the
system are completely removed and it is possible disassemble the batteries.
Each battery pack has two screws that lock it to the housing; remove the screws
using a tool. Once the two packs are mechanically free, it is possible remove them.

Follow the reverse procedure to install the new batteries. Due to the two battery packs
are not equal in size, respect the positions.

When the two connectors should be reinserted, once completed the operation, check
every single wire and make sure that everyone is properly inserted into the housing.

5.1.5 POWER CORD REPLACEMENT

Carry out at least one meter of cable:


Disconnect the cable from the plug, then cut the clamp that holds the cable stop
ball.
Remove the cable stop ball.

Remove the side cover by unscrewing the four M4x12 screws that fix it to the
machine. Disconnect the I / O board wiring

Remove the cover on which the I / O board is attached to gain access to the cable
reel, unscrewing the three M4x12 bolts using a 7 mm key

Remove the cable reel locking bracket by unscrewing the M4x12 connector

Remove the cable reel from its seat, cut the cable ties that block the cable out of the
wiring

Remove the Magnetothermic switch from its seat, connect the wiring coming from
the cable reel.

Once the cable reel disconnection is complete, replace the part and use the reverse

presenza dell’errore 05 sul display del UPS aprendo lo sportellino
presente frontalmente. Per permettere il riavvio del sistema sarà
ERRORE 5 sul display dell’UPS necessario disconnettere il cavo di alimentazione.

Fatto questo, sarà possibile eseguire l’accensione a batteria.

7 AVVERTENZE PER LA MANUTENZIONE


La manutenzione dovrà essere eseguita da personale della
ditta fabbricante, SMAM s.r.l., o da personale da essa
ATTENZIONE autorizzato. La ditta pertanto declina ogni responsabilità a
seguito d’interventi eseguiti da personale diverso da quello
sopra menzionato.

Assicurarsi di eseguire ispezioni periodiche al fine di


mantenere la sicurezza e le prestazioni delle apparecchiature
anche se nulla di insolito viene rilevato durante le ispezioni

8 AVVERTENZE PER LA PULIZIA


.

Per la pulizia delle superfici esterne dell’apparecchiatura non devono essere utilizzati
prodotti ad alto contenuto di alcool né detergenti corrosivi, abrasivi o solventi (benzina,
alcool, acetoni, etc.). Pertanto la pulizia delle superfici esterne deve essere eseguita
esclusivamente con panno inumidito o con detersivo neutro ed asciugate con un panno
asciutto.

Spegnere l’apparecchiatura e scollegare la spina


ATTENZIONE
dall’alimentazione prima di iniziare le operazioni di pulizia.

Assicurarsi che nessun liquido possa accidentalmente


ATTENZIONE penetrare nell’apparecchiatura, in modo da evitare
cortocircuiti e corrosione dei componenti.
Il pannello non è a tenuta stagna ed è altamente sensibile ai
liquidi. Si raccomanda quindi di fare attenzione e non

9 TRASPORTO E STOCCAGGIO
Per il pannello:

• Fare riferimento alle istruzioni di disimballaggio riportate sulla scatola di cartone


esterna per le condizioni di stoccaggio e il trasporto (limiti di temperatura ambientale
e umidità, pressione, ecc.).

• Il rivelatore deve essere conservato nella sua scatola di cartone originale. Non aprirla
se non è necessario.

• Quando non utilizzato o alimentato, il rivelatore deve essere conservato all'interno


della sacca di protezione, chiuso con nastro adesivo e con il sacchetto di sali
essiccante per evitare umidità sul rivelatore.

10 PROTEZIONE CONTRO LE RADIAZIONI


IONIZZANTI
EASYSLIDE è un dispositivo mobile che, previa pressione del pulsante raggi da parte di un
tecnico di radiologia specializzato, emette radiazioni ionizzanti. Pertanto la zona situata
intorno al dispositivo è una zona classificata come controllata temporanea al momento
dell'esposizione e in tale area, durante una emissione RX, devono essere rispettate le
disposizioni vigenti in tema di protezione dalle radiazioni. Allo scopo il personale deve tener
presente le seguenti regole:

- Ove necessario utilizzare accessori di protezione dalle radiazioni come gli appositi camici
radioprotettivi: un materiale radioprotettivo equivalente a 0.35 mm di piombo attenua il
99,95% della radiazione prodotta a 50 kV ed il 94,5% di quella prodotta a 100 kV. Una barriera
di 2 mm di piombo scherma quasi completamente la radiazione prodotta dal dispositivo;

- la miglior protezione dalle radiazioni è la distanza: durante l'esposizione (il comando a


peretta ha una lunghezza cavo di 4 metri), sfruttare tutta la lunghezza del cavo mantenendosi
il più lontano possibile sia dalla sorgente di radiazione che dall’obiettivo dell’esposizione in
modo da evitare la radiazione diffusa proveniente dal paziente o da oggetti che interagiscono
con il fascio primario (es. lettino del paziente).

- evitare di muoversi o sostare all’interno della traiettoria dei raggi, controllare di non essere
mai esposti verso il cono di uscita raggi, ma tenersi posteriormente ad esso;

- utilizzare sempre il minor campo di esposizione possibile: la radiazione diffusa dipende in


misura notevole dal volume dell’oggetto irradiato;

- controllare che nessuno sosti in prossimità del dispositivo. In alternativa prevedere le


adeguate schermature;

- Il paziente che si sottopone ad esame diagnostico deve essere posizionato il più vicino
possibile al detettore portatile con un DFF non inferiore a 100 cm;

- tenere la parte in esame del paziente il più lontano possibile dalla macchia focale del tubo
radiogeno (Distanza minima tra punto focale – cono di uscita = 20cm). nella seguente tabella
vengono riportati i valori medi di dose in cute per esame radiologico. Si ricorda che la dose
aumenta quadraticamente diminuendo la distanza fuoco-pelle.
