diameter of field of view
(dFOV)
(If you know how wide your field of view is, you can estimate the size
of things you see in the field of view)
➢ Visual :
• 1 meter (m) =100 centimeter (cm)
or 1000 millimeter (mm)
• 1 cm =10 mm
• 1 mm =1000 micrometer (µm)
➢ Microscopic
• 1 µm =1000 nanometer (nm)
• 1 nm =10 angstrom (A0)
Most cells are between 1 and 100 µm in diameter and
therefore are visible only under the microscope.
