Bar Chart

The provided bar chart compares the expenses made by population in the two countries,
namely France and the United Kingdom on the five different types of consumer products
in 2010.

Overall, it can be seen from the chart that the total amount of money spent by the British
people was higher than that spent by the French. Additionally, while cars were the most
popular category of expenditure in both countries, cameras and perfume were the least
favored spending categories among the French and British respectively.

Regarding cars, books and cameras, they are three types of expenses that the citizen in
the United Kingdom paid much money for than that in France. It is obvious that the
largest difference emerged in the expenditures of the two countries on books, while the
data for the United Kingdom was over 350000 pound sterling, the number for France
only stood at 150000 pound sterling, which was nearly half of the former. In terms of
cars, the British allocated an extremely large budget of more than 450000 pound sterling
on them compared to 400000 pound sterling spent by the French. Meanwhile, the amount
of money spent by the British on books was over 400000 pound sterling, which was four-
thirds as much as the figure in France.

Unlike the three previous spending categories, computers and perfume were the two
types of expenditures that the French paid much money for than the British. In terms of
computers, while the population in France spent nearly 400000 pound sterling on them,
that in the United Kingdom allocated just a bit lower, at 350000 pound sterling.
Meanwhile, the British’s expenses on perfume was almost third-fours as much as the
French’s, stood at just under 150000 pound sterling and 200000 pound sterling
respectively.
