    (School Based Media and Information Literacy & Empowerment Technology Film Competition)

    MECHANICS AND CRITERIA

    A. Guidelines

    1. The Short Film contest is open to all SHS students enrolled in Media and Information Literacy &
    Empowerment Technology this SY 2023-2024.
    2. There will be 1 team for each section from grade 11 and grade 12.
    3. A team shall be composed of director/s, writers, actors, videographers, and editors.
    4. The contest are to shoot a short film on the theme. “Being Media and Information Technology
    Responsible: Today and in the future”. The film submissions must have a unique concept,
    there may incorporate futuristic concepts, but they must emphasize the appropriate use of media,
    information, and technology.
    5. The entries will automatically become the property of the school and the involved production
    team.
    6. The Awards are:
    a. Major Awards
    - Best Short Film
    - 2nd Place – Short Film
    - 3rd Place – Short Film

    B. Entry Requirements

    1. The contest is free of charge. No entry fees shall be collected from the contestants.
    2. The short film must be in English, Filipino, or combination of both, depends on the creativity.
    3. If other local dialects are used, a subtitle is required.
    4. All submitted short film entries must be an original work of the team.
    5. The short film content must be appropriate for an audience of all ages. Short film containing dirty,
    foul and offensive language are subject to immediate disqualification.
    6. The film should be in a landscape orientation and at least in 640 x 480 resolution or higher.
    Preferably 16:9 ratio. Film entries must be 5-7 minutes in length, including credits.
    7. The film entries will be judged based on their compelling visuals, and impressions the
    convey to their audiences.
    8. All entries must end with a 5-second full-screen title page that follows the format below:
     Grade Level, Strand, and Section
     Title of the Video
     Total Running Time

    C. Criteria for Judging


    1. In details the film entries will be judged based on the following criteria:
    Criteria Description Percentage
    Content and Relevance to the The work readily explains the 50%

     Visual Presentation
    Score Total Points 100%

    2. The decision of the panel of judges based on the following criteria is final and irrevocable.

    D. Submission of Entries
    1. Each team is allowed to submit one entry per team.
    2. Deadline for the online submission of entries is on January 18, 2024 before 1:00pm.
    Failure to submit before the said schedule will be automatically void.
    3. Save your file in MP4 format.
