37. Read the passage and answer any four questions:
Atom can be described as in building houses the building blocks of all matter are atoms. A molecule is in general a group
of two or more atoms that are chemically bonded together, that is, tightly held together by attractive forces. A molecule
can be defined as the smallest particle of an element or a compound that is capable of independent existence and shows
all the properties of that substance. Atoms of the same element or of different elements can join together to form a
molecule. The number of atoms constituting a molecule is known as its atomicity. Metals and some other elements,
such as carbon, do not have a simple structure but consist of a very large and indefinite number of atoms bonded
together.

38. Animal tissues are of many types such as epithelial tissue, connective tissue, muscular tissue and nervous tissue.
Blood is a type of connective tissue, and muscle forms muscular tissue. The nature of the matrix differs in concordance
with the function of the particular connective tissue. Blood has a fluid (liquid) matrix called plasma, in which red blood
corpuscles, white blood corpuscles and platelets are suspended. Blood flows and transports gases, digested food,
hormones and waste materials to different parts of the body. Bone is another example of connective tissue. It forms the
framework that supports the body. It also anchors the muscles and supports the main organs of the body.

II How many type of epithelial tissue found in animals (1)
III What is the function of nerve cell (2)
Or
Write the function of blood.
39. The speed of an object is the distance covered per unit time, and velocity is the displacement per unit time.To specify
the speed of anobject, we require only its magnitude while Velocity is the speed of an object moving in adefinite
direction.
i. Which of these is vector speed or velocity? (1)
ii. An object travels 20 m in 5 s and then another 40 m in 5s. What is the average speed in m/s of the object? (1)
iii. Define speed and velocity of particle. (2)
Or
