32 Let A = R – {3}, B = R – {1}. Let f : A → B be defined by f (x) = (𝑥−2)/( 𝑥−3 ) ∀ x ∈ A .


Then show that f(x) is bijective.

38 Case-Study 3: Aditi, Bhavya & Ragini post-graduated from IIM and their chances of being selected as the
manager of a firm is 5:3:2 respectively. The respective probability for them to introduce a new change in
marketing strategy is 0.3, 0.2 & 0.5 respectively. Let E1, E2 & E3 be
the event that Aditi, Bhavya & Ragini be selected as the manager
and A be the event that a new change takes place in marketing
strategy. Based on above information, answer the following:
(i) Write the probability that the new change took place in
marketing strategy.

(ii) Write the probability that the new change took place
in marketing strategy due to appointment of Ragini.
