    DIRECTED NUMBERS

    • Directed numbers are those numbers which have a sign. We use directed

    • Also it is important to note that 54 is greater than 24 ; but -54 is less

    Solution:

    (a)The lowest temperature is the biggest number with a negative sign. Hence -50C
    is the lowest temperature.

    (b) The range is the difference between the highest and the lowest temperature.
    Highest temperature= 60C.

    Lowest temperature= -50C


    Hence Range= Highest temperature - Lowest temperature=60C-( -50C)=110C
    also Range= Lowest temperature -Highest temperature = -50C-60C-= -110C is
    accepted as per mark schemes
