    220KV GRID STATION, NTDC, RAVI, LAHORE.

    (SAMPLE)
    Introduction:

    The Grid Station is situated on the Right Bank of Ravi River near Niazi Chowk Ring Road Inter-Change and
    energized in 1970.
    Up gradation:

    In the year 1970, 132/66 KV Ravi Grid Station was constructed and later on in the year 1994, it was upgraded
    from 132 kV to 220kV Gas Insulated System (GIS) Make Sprecher Energie (Switzerland). Initially 2 Nos. 160
    MVA, 220/132 KV Auto Transformers and 2 Nos. 132/11KV 20/26 MVA Power Transformers were
    commissioned.
    In the year 1994, 2 Nos. 220KV Circuits from 500KV Sheikhupura were added to the system and in the year
    2001, 1 No. 160 MVA, 220/132 KV Auto Transformer was added and further in 2011 it was upgraded to 03 Nos
    220/132kV, 250MVA Auto Transformers and in 2017, 02 No. 132/11.5kV, 31.5/40MVA power transformer
    were installed.
    Importance:
    At present 04 No. 220kV circuits i.e. Ravi-SMR, Ravi-KSK, Ravi -Atlas and Ravi-SKP and 11 No. 132kV
    Circuit exist in the system. These outgoing Circuits are feeding to the 132-KV Bogiwal, Shahdra, Badami Bagh,
    Shamkay, Saidpur, Sagian, Fort Grid Stations under the jurisdiction of LESCO. This grid station also distributes
    power to the thirteen (13) 11KV outgoing feeders which are feeding many nearby densely populated areas of
    Lahore including Badami Bagh, Bogiwal, and Sheranwala etc. It is connected with 500KV Grid station
    Sheikhupura, 220KV G/S Kala Shah Kaku, 220 KV G/S Shalamar and Honda Atlas Power House.
    Important areas where electricity being supplied:
    This grid station provides electricity services in some important government departments, i.e. Nawaz Sharif
    Hospital, Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital, Lady Willingdon Hospital, Police Station Badami Bagh, Police Station
    Shahdara, WASA Disposal Shad Bagh, Ring Road Mehmood Booti Interchange, Ravi Floor Mills and some
    domestic local industries.
    Maintenance Works already done:
    Annual Maintenances of all grid station equipments, overhauling of 12 No. 132KV Bus Bar Isolators and 03 No.
    132KV Line Isolators, replacement of 01 No. Line Isolator, replacement of 132KV Bus Bar I & II conductors at
    various locations in 132KV Switch Yard.
    Major Works required:
    This grid station requires some major works like GIS Overhauling, installation of 1 No. 110VDC Battery Bank,
    06 sets of Bus Bar Isolators, overhauling of 132KV Circuit breakers along with annual maintenance of all
    installed equipments.
