Legs (yarn A)
Now we’ll be building a smaller round on top of the round Fasten off. Using a tapestry needle, weave the yarn tail
we were just working on, to create the legs. through the front loops of the last round until the gap
closes. Weave in the remaining yarn.
Rnd 53: 5 sc. Move the stitch marker to the fifth (28)
st. This marks the beginning of every
new rnd. 23 sc.
Rnd 54: The first sc of this rnd will be in the st (24)
with the st marker, and will connect the
front of the body to the back. See
instructions to the right for more detail.
Remember to insert the hook from the
outside to the inside of the body. 24 sc.

Add stuffing
To start rnd 54, rotate your work so that the side with the st
Rnd 57: [2 sc, dec] x 6 (18) marker is facing you. Like all of the other rnds, the first sc
Rnd 58: 18 sc (18) goes into the st with the st marker. To keep the right side of
Rnd 59: [sc, dec] x 6 (12) the work facing out, remember to insert the hook from the
Rnd 60: dec x 6 (6) outside to the inside of the work. Try to make the st
connecting the front and back of the body as small as
possible.

Second leg
Snout (yarn B)
Turn your work so that the leg you just made is on the right.
Rnd 1: ch 6 (6)
On the bottom of the work, join the yarn in the 9th
Rnd 2: sc in 2nd ch from hook, then sc in next 3 (12)

st. 3 sc in last ch. Rotate work to work in
tail, which you’ll use to sew the gap between the legs.

Attach the snout at the end of rnd 13, so that the top of the
snout lines up with the middle of the eyes. The bottom of the
snout should end between rnd 23 & 24.
Then attach the tail starting at the end of rnd 36, centered at
the back of the body and before the back of the body starts
sloping into the bear’s legs. The bottom of the tail should end
between rnd 39 & 40.
Lastly, attach the arms so that the tops of the arms lie
between rnd 21 & 22. To attach them in a way that they can
move, go to the next page.

2. Pull the yarn through the body between rnds 22 & 23.
4.. The 2 ends of yarn should come out of the same hole. Pull
on both ends of the yarn tightly, tie a knot, and hide the tails
inside the body.
The instructions work from the left to the right of the ear.
