Operating the FlexPulse G2

The battery of new FlexPulse G2 unit needs to be charged before first use. Please read the
chapter “charging the battery” on page 5.

Connecting the magnetic field coil

Connect the cable(s) of one or two coils to the FlexPulse G2. Make sure that the plugs line up
with the ports from the unit. It may be best to line up the bottom edge of the coil plug with the
bottom edge of the port and then “hinge” it into the port before fully inserting the plug.

Switching the unit ON

Push the ON/OFF button .
The program, which was used during the previous session, is shown on the display. The intensity
value is flashing. If no program is running and no key is pressed for 120 seconds, the device
turns off automatically.

Selecting a program
Select a program by pressing the key. To scroll through the programs,
press the key as often as necessary until you have selected the program
of your choice. Programs may be reset during operation by pressing the
key again, but the timer will have to be reset too. The programs are: P01-
3Hz, P02-7.83Hz, P03-10Hz, P04-14Hz, P05-23Hz, P06-40Hz, P7-50Hz, P8-
60Hz, P9-10Hz/100Hz (alternating every minute), P10-999 (=1000) Hz.

Setting the intensity

Increase and decrease the intensity with left and keys. The intensity
is displayed on the screen. The default is 10. The intensity can be set
between level 1 and level 10. By keeping the intensity keys pressed, the
intensity will increase/decrease more rapidly.

Note: Duration of battery operation depends on intensity. Higher intensities will drain the battery
faster, especially with the higher frequency programs.

Setting the program time

All 10 programs have a 30 minute default time. To change the program time,
use the right / keys. You can change it from 10 min to 20 min, 30 min,
40 min, 50 min, 1 h, 2 h, 4 h, 6 h or continually. In continuous mode the
display will show “cont”.

Starting the program

Push the key to start the program. The intensity display will stop flashing. If the program is
not running, the intensity value is flashing. When the stimulation time is completed the
stimulation terminates automatically and the device will beep three times.

Stopping the program

You can stop the program by pressing the key for 4 seconds. The unit will reset to the default
time and intensity and to the last used program.

Page 3

Switching the unit OFF

Push the ON/OFF button and hold for 4 seconds, there will be 4 beeps. When the button is
released after that, the screen will turn off.

If the battery level is too low, the battery symbol flashes 3 times and turns to standby
automatically. Time to recharge the battery.

Charging the Battery

The battery level is shown on the display with a battery symbol with 4
lines. If the battery level is too low, the unit automatically switches to
standby.

When the battery needs to be re-charged. The battery can be recharged at

any time without being fully depleted. Before recharging turn off any programs and turn off the
unit if it is not already off.

▪ Connect the wireless charger station with the power adapter and the
charging cable.

▪ Connect the power adapter to an AC outlet and the

diode on the charger station illuminates red.

▪ Place the FlexPulse G2 on the charger station. the charger station

illuminates and pulses blue.

• The charging process starts automatically, and the battery

symbol appears on the display.

▪ The battery symbol pulses while it is charging.

▪ At the end of the charging process, all bars in the battery symbol are on
steadily for 20 seconds.
▪ The battery is fully charged if the battery symbol has reached 4 bars and no longer pulsing.
▪ It is normal for the back of the FlexPulse G2 to feel hot after recharging. The longer it is left
recharging the hotter it may be likely to feel. It will be best not to place the back of the hot
Page 4
Instructions for use: FlexPulse G2 Item No.: 451600-0512. Version: 01

control unit against the skin until it has cooled sufficiently.

▪ Normal recharging time will depend on how depleted the battery is when recharging is
initiated.
▪ It is best to remove the control unit from the charger as soon it is fully recharged, rather than
leaving it on charging mode for extended periods of time.

Note: The battery will NOT charge when running a program.

Coil Detection
If a coil is correctly connected to the device, “---“will be shown on the
display. The device will beep twice if you try to start a program without a
coil connected. A program will not run without at least one coil connected.

PLEASE NOTE: when 2 coils are plugged in, the full power of FlexPulse G2 control
unit transmitted to the coils will be divided in half at the intensity selected. In other words, using only one
coil will provide the full power to that single coil.

Magnetic Field Tester

The magnetic field tester is included so you may periodically test that the coils
are still functional, especially if you are unable to hear them “clicking”.

To use the tester, begin a FlexPulse program using intensity 10. Place the
magnetic field tester directly over the active coil. Observe as the light below
“RUN” flashes. The light will flash in sync with the chosen frequency program.
The light is most easily visible when looked at from directly above and in low light conditions.

Coil Maintenance
▪ The coils are subject to discoloration due to perspiration, lubricants and chemicals applied to
the skin and exposure to water, other fluids, and humidity. This is normal “wear and tear.”
▪ It is important not to pull on the coil wires when repositioning the coil paddles or pulling the
plug out of the control unit socket.
▪ Wear and tear on the coils will result from repeated bending the coils at right angles,
crimping, positioning against hard edges or 180° angles.
▪ Do not attempt to splice or cut and reattach coil wires. This will void the warranty.

Coil Placement
Although the FlexPulse allows 2 coils to be used simultaneously, it is preferable to use only one
coil at a time. When two coils are used, the magnetic field intensity drops significantly, and the
battery will drain more quickly.

The coil should be placed so that the side with the large circle label is towards the body.

The possibilities for placement depend on the treatment intention of the individual. For example,
if treating the knee, place the coil on one side of the knee. The same approach to placement can

Page 5
Instructions for use: FlexPulse G2 Item No.: 451600-0512. Version: 01

be considered for any part of the body, including the neck or the head. For the back, chest,
abdomen or pelvic areas, coils can be placed centered on the problem area.

Coils may be placed directly on the skin or over clothing. Coils must be secured by the individual
using a method most appropriate for placement and lifestyle. Braces, bandages, athletic tape,
and sweat bands are all examples of items commonly used to secure coils.
