RESOURCES
OBS fully abbreviated as organizational breakdown structure is the top down hierarchy of any
COO
Data
ACCESS Center Electrical
organization representing the reporting structure of the resources to manager level and then to the top
management of the organization.
In other words, it can also be seen as the frame work in which project team and sponsors lies
where the sponsors are internally associated with an organization.
Nayatel is a functional organization where project manager is a bridge between the higher
management and the functional managers. The project manager works with the functional teams
to meet the project goals and report the project status to higher management of the organization.
1. Mr. Wahaj-Us-Siraj
CEO Nayatel
2. Mr. Kh. Muhamamd Saad.
COO Nayatel
3. Mr. Aqeel Khurshid
CTO Nayatel
The board members and shareholders are in direct coordination with the managing directors and
project manager.
In addition to this there are more than twenty departments in Nayatel comes under the respective
head of departments for example the HOD of sales team is the CEO of the organization and VP
sales directly reports to him. This has been mentioned in OBS diagram as well.
ENTERPRISE PROJECT STRUCTURE
EPS fully abbreviated as enterprise project structure is basically a top down or we can say
hierarchal view of number of projects done or ongoing projects an organization is doing or has
done in past.
Enterprise project structure has multiple levels and division depending upon the nature of the
project. These levels are commonly divided as:
1. Nodes.
2. Sub-Nodes.
What is a node?
A node is the highest level in the EPS representing type of projects being done under that
specific node.
What is a Sub-Node?
A sub node is a sub-level of node, there can be multiple sub nodes under one node purely
depending upon the organizational projects.
Nayatel is deploying and enhancing its network so multiple projects are on there way some are at
verge of completion, some are ongoing and some are yet to be started or we can say that are in
phase of planning.
1. Inter-City Projects.
The FTTH expansion being done within city level scope comes under the node of inter city
projects. For example if the organization starts providing service to a society of Islamabad it will
come under this category.
2. Intra-City Projects.
The FTTH expansion being done within city level scope comes under the node of inter city
projects. The organization recently deployed network in Peshawar so it will come under intra
city projects category.
WBS being abbreviated as work break down structure is the division of work into manageable
chunks. The top most level is known as the control account and the bottom most level is known
as the work package. The WBS can be easily explained if it is divided in two parts:
The what part is the level one of the WBS which shows that what will be done in this project to
achieve the project goal.
The how part supports the what part that how that deliverable will be achieved in order to
complete the objective?
In the project under discussion the project manager of Nayatel divided the project into different
levels of WBS so that it can be managed in order to achieve the final objective. The elements of
WBS are as follow:
The above mentioned parts of WBS is the top level of WBS created for the project each level of WBS has a
special element code, these codes can be seen in the table as follow.
