Background of the Study

The importance of personalized learning in promoting student
engagement and academic performance is becoming more widely
acknowledged. This research will offer insightful information on the
effects of these methods on Blessed Regina Protmann Catholic
School Inc. students. The results may help shape teaching strategies
in the future and add to the discussion on best practices in
education.
Statement of the Problem
Despite the growing interest in personalized learning approaches,
there is limited research specifically examining their impact on
student engagement and academic success of senior high school
education at Blessed Regina Protmann Catholic School Inc.
Although personalized learning has been linked to better project
quality, engagement in the classroom, and assessment results in a
variety of educational situations, it is yet unknown how these
advantages apply in this specific educational setting. Additionally,
perceptions of personalized learning are generally positive among
students, teachers, and parents, who often believe that these
methods significantly boost engagement and academic success.
Research Gaps
• Shemshock & Spector's (2020) previous study examined personalized learning in
a wide high school context, but it failed to focus on how it affects student
engagement in a Catholic school setting, which may have different cultural and
educational dynamics.

• Bernacki et al. (2022) examined academic success in connection to

personalized learning, but it did not take into consideration the variations in
results across students' various levels of academic performance, creating an
absence in our knowledge of the wider effects.
