    EXCERTS FROM THE MINUTES OF THE REGULAR SESSION OF THE SANGUNIANG BARANGAY
    OF ELEVADO, MATALOM, LEYTE HELD ON DECEMBER 16, 2024 AT THE BARANGAY HALL

    RESOLUTION NO. Series of 2024

    A RESOLUTION REORGANIZING THE

    BARANGAY COUNCIL FOR THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN (BCPC)

    WHEREAS, pursuant to the DILG MC NO. 2002-121 providing the guidelines on the
    organization and strengthening of the Local Councils for the Protection of Children (LCPC)
    incorporating thereat Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Coordinating Committees
    at all levels, there is a need to reorganize the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children
    (BCPC) of this Barangay;

    NOW THEREFORE, on the motion of Hon. Josephine m. Galia and duly seconded by Hon.
    Ana Marie P. Salar BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED to re organize the BCPC of this
    Barangay with the following composition:

    HON. REYNALDO A. INFORTUNA Chairman, Punong Barangay

    HON. JOSEPHINE M. GALIA Co- Chair, Kagawad on Women and

    Family/Social Services

    MEMBERS:

    HON. JEYLORD L. PAYAC SK Chairperson

    MRS. ANALIZA S. PEQUERO Brgy. Nutrition Scholar

    MRS. ERLINDA G. GOPIO Brgy. Day Care Worker

    MR. NAVOR DOBLE Deped Head Teacher

    MR. BRADILITO G. GATO Chief Tanod

    MISS. MARIEL GERMO PALEN Child Representative

    MRS. AIREZZA O. PAYAC PTA President

    RESOLVED FURTHER, that the BCPC shall exercise the following functions and
    responsibilities;

    1. Foster the education of every child,


    2. Take steps to prevent juvenile delinquency and assist parents of children with
    behavioural problems so that they can get expert advice;
    3. Adopt measures for the health of children,
    4. Conduct capability building projects to increase knowledge and skills in handling
    childrens program.
    5. Encourange proper performance of the duties and responsibilities of parents, and
    provide learning opportunities on the adequate rearing of children and positive
    parent-child relationship;
    6. Promote wholesome entertainment in the community;
    7. Prepare Annual Work and Financial Plan (AWFP) for children and recommend
    appropriations to the Sanggunian and coordinate with other agencies and institutions
    in the planning, monitoring and evaluation thereof;
    8. Establish and maintain database on children in the Barangay;
    9. Advocate for the establishment and maintenance of playgrounds, day care centers
    and other facilities necessary for child and youth development;
    10. Advocate for the paasage of Barangay resolution/ordinance responsive to child-
    related issues and concerns and ensure the inclusion of childrens program in the
    executive agenda;
    11. Protect and assist children in need of special attention (e.g. abandoned, maltreated
    and dependents) and refer cases filed against child abusers to proper
    agencies/institutions;
    12. Monitor situation reports on children and prepare quarterly updates including the
    implementations of childrens program and make recommendations to the Municipal
    Council for the Protection of Children for consideration and nationwide application;
    13. Perform such other functions and onther child related laws especially in matters of
    child and parent education, health entertainment, etc.
