ABSTRACT

After finishing the research, an abstract should be written. The


abstract should concisely summarize the research and contain at
least 150 to 250 words. It should include a) the purpose of the
study, methodology used, and conclusion and recommendation. The
abstract should focus on work done in the current year and should
not include a) citations, and b) acknowledgments. Please do not
exceed the 250-word count for the abstract. A 250-word abstract

CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION AND LITERATURE REVIEW

Background of the Study


 Topic sentence (1-2 sentences). In one complex sentence,
state the main idea of your paper.
 Thesis statement (1 paragraph). Description and the context
of the study.
 Supporting Paragraph (2-3 paragraph). Write 3 t 5 reasonable
arguments containing details, facts, and statistics.
 Rationale (1-2 paragraphs).Reason for conducting the study
 Conclusive statement (1-2 sentences). Recall the main idea
and add a strong ending to a paragraph

Research Questions

 The research questions identify the problem/s which will be


addressed;

Related Literature.
 Avoid asking research questions that are answerable with yes
or no.
 Be guided by the acronym SMART (specific, measurable,
attainable, realistic and time-bound)

Scope and Limitations

In writing the scope and delimitation of your study, it includes:

Topic of the Study. What are the variables to be included and


excluded?

Time Frame. When are you going to conduct this study?

Significance of the Study

 Write who will benefit from your study in 1 paragraph each


 Choose between the Hierarchical method or According to the
importance

Definition of Terms
 Only include the relevant terms, especially the variables you
will use in your study
 Conceptual definition is the meaning of the term that is based
on how it is defined in the dictionary or encyclopedia.
 Operational definition - is the meaning of the term based on
how it was used in the study.

1. Format and Style. The paper size is A4. The margin in the left size is 1.5” and the top, right,
and bottom is 1”. The body text is a Century School book with 12 font size just like in this
paper. The whole document is 1.5 spacing. Don’t forget to justify the text (or the body of the
text).

below the table number. No vertical lines. Horizontal lines only where necessary for clarity.

4. Citations and References

The References should be listed alphabetically. The documentation style to be used is APA 7 th
edition. Please conform to APA 7th Edition style, just like the sample entries in this paper. Note
how references like printed journal articles or online (or those with DOI), books, conference
proceedings, or edited books are presented. Make sure that the proper format, including
punctuation and spacing, is followed. All cited authors should be seen in the reference list.

If the author’s name appears as the subject of a sentence, citations should be like
“Borlongan (2011) showed that …”, otherwise citations should appear in parentheses after a
complete sentence like this (Borlongan, 2011). Put multiple citations together, as in (Dita et al.,
2010; Navarro, 1999; Ramos, 2000; Zen et al., 2005).
