Electric field in English notes
To use the concept of an electric field to explain this
arrangement, the electric charges in contact do not affect each other in magnitude. Just as there is a gravitational force between two objects, there is an electric force between two objects. Electric force binds electrons and nuclei together to form atoms. By combining those atoms together creates liquid, solid and molecules. Electrical forces are numerically greater in magnitude than gravitational forces.
9.1 Coulomb law
French scientist Charles Augustin de Coulomb studied the forces of attraction and repulsion between charges and discovered Coulomb's Law. According to Coulomb's law, the electric force between two charges is directly proportional to the product of the charges and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them. -Equation F= K Q1Q2 by r square
9.2 Electric Field and Electric Field Intensity
Electric field can be interpreted as the place where electric charges occur. Electric field intensity If an electric charge is placed on top of an electric field, an electric force can be exerted. To determine the electric field, we need to know the electric field intensity. Electric field intensity can be expressed by vector E = vector F by q.
9.3 Electric lines of force
This concept of lines of force was developed by Michael Faraday to help visualize the electric field. Those lines are imaginary lines. Electric lines of force tend to be close together when the electric field intensity is high, and are far apart when the intensity is low.
9.4 Electric charge distribution.
If an electric current is applied to an electrode of any shape, it is seen to spread to the outer surface of the material. However, it is not evenly distributed.
The more curved surfaces an object has, the greater the
concentration of charge.
Electric field inside a charged conducting object
A charged object is said to have an electric field around it. However, due to the individual charges on the surface of the charged object, the electric field dissipates within the object. Therefore, the electric field anywhere inside the charged object is zero.
Non-uniform Electric field and Uniform electric field
If the intensity of the electric field varies from point to point in the electric field. It is called non uniform electric field. If the magnitude and direction of the electric field are the same at every point, It is called uniform electric field.
