The Fall of Tupperware

● What were the key factors that led to Tupperware's decline?

- Tupperware used to be super popular for its airtight food containers, but things
have changed a lot lately. People started buying cheaper, disposable containers
that came with their food, and they wanted more specialized containers for meal
prepping and cooking at home. Tupperware didn't keep up with these changes
and didn't come out with new products as often as people wanted. They also
relied on selling their products at parties, which isn't as popular anymore with
everyone using the internet. Even though some people still love their
Tupperware, the company couldn't keep up with the times and ended up having
money problems.

● How could innovation have helped Tupperware stay relevant in the market?
- Tupperware could have stayed relevant in the market by embracing innovation and
adapting to changing consumer preferences. Instead of sticking with traditional plastic
containers, they could have experimented with new, eco-friendly materials like bamboo
or recycled plastic, which are increasingly popular. They could have also created
specialized containers designed for specific needs, such as meal prepping, freezing, or
even baking. Imagine Tupperware containers with smart features, like sensors that tell
you how long your food is good for or even help you portion out your meals! Finally, they
could have embraced online sales, making their products more accessible to a wider
audience. By being creative and thinking outside the box, Tupperware could have
stayed ahead of the curve and kept people excited about their products.

● Provide an example of a company that survived challenges through innovation.

What did they do differently?
- A great example of a Filipino company that survived challenges through innovation is
Jollibee. They started as a small ice cream parlor, but they saw an opportunity to make
delicious Filipino food more accessible. They kept innovating, adding new menu items
like their famous Chickenjoy and Jolly Spaghetti, and expanding their restaurants all over
the Philippines and even internationally. Jollibee also kept up with the times, using
social media to connect with customers and offering online ordering and delivery. They
learned to adapt to what people wanted and kept making things better, which is why
they're now one of the most popular fast food chains in the Philippines.
