Introduction

Sustainable living is more important than ever as the world faces environmental challenges
like climate change and plastic pollution. By making small changes in our daily lives, we can
collectively reduce our environmental impact. Our group chose to create a bird feeder using
a milk carton as a solution to reduce the amount of milk cartons being thrown away.Making
the bird feeder will not only reduce the amount of paper waste, it also provides food for our
avian friends.

Description of the Product

Our product is a miniature bird feeder made from milk cartons as the main material,
designed specifically as a place for birds to feast. The bird feeders are made from a milk
carton, strings and sticks. These materials create a durable bird feeder that can be hung off
all sorts of trees and walls.

To create the feeder, we first cut the milk cartons in half. Then, we placed used popsicle
sticks and connected the two halves of the carton. We then attach some stick on the bottom
part of the feeders to provide a place for the birds to rest while they feast. Lastly, we create
holes on the top part of the carton and put a rope through the holes and fill the bottom with
bird feed, it can now be hung anywhere outside for your bird friends to enjoy.
How the Product Supports Sustainability

The bird feeder supports sustainability by helping reduce paper waste. By creating the bird
feeder, the milk carton will have a use even after we consume its content. Milk cartons are
often discarded after a single use, contributing to environmental waste in landfills or oceans.
In contrast, when repurposed as bird feeders, these cartons can be used for an extended
period, significantly reducing the need for disposable materials.

In the long run, repurposing milk cartons into bird feeders can lead to a significant reduction
in household waste. This simple change can have a big impact on the environment by
decreasing the demand for new materials and reducing the amount of waste that ends up in
landfills.Additionally, It also gives back to the environment by providing food for birds.

Quotes, Facts, and Statistics

Living sustainably is crucial for the health of our planet and future generations. According to
the United Nations, the world’s population is expected to reach 9.7 billion by 2050, which
will put immense pressure on natural resources. The Global Footprint Network reports that
we currently consume resources at a rate of 1.7 times faster than the Earth can regenerate.
By adopting sustainable practices, such as reducing waste and conserving energy, we can
significantly lower our ecological footprint.

Conclusion
In conclusion, our project on creating miniature bird feeders highlights the importance of
making sustainable choices in our daily lives. By reducing the amount of paper waste
produced while providing food for the little critters of the sky, allowing us to contribute to a
healthier planet. We hope that this project inspires others to take similar steps towards
sustainable living.
