1. Section A has 20 MCQs carrying 1 mark each
2. Section B has 5 questions carrying 02 marks each.
3. Section C has 6 questions carrying 03 marks each.
4. Section D has 4 questions carrying 05 marks each.
5. Section E has 3 case based integrated units of assessment (04
marks each) with sub- parts of the values of 1, 1 and 2 marks
each respectively.
6. All Questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 2 Qs
of 5 marks, 2 Qs of 3marks and 2 Questions of 2 marks has been
provided. An internal choice has been provided in the 2marks
questions of Section E

Q23 (𝑥, 𝑦) is a point equidistant from the points (4,3) and 𝐵(3,4). Prove that 2
𝑥 – y= 0

Write the coordinates of a point on the x-axis which is equidistant from points
A(–2, 9) and B(2, – 5).

Q24 All the black face cards are removed from a pack of 52 playing 2
cards. The reaming cards are well shuffled and then a card is drawn
at random. Find the probability of getting a
(i) face card (ii) black card
Q25 If the points A(6,1) B (8,2),C (9,4) and D (p,3) are the vertices of a 2
parallelogram taken in order, find the value of p

Q28 Find the zeros of the polynomial 2x2+5x -12 and verify the 3
relationship between its zeroes and coefficients
Q29 A chord of a circle of radius 10 cm subtends a right angle at the centre 3
.Find the area of the corresponding (i) minor segment (ii) major sector.

Q30 Prove that If a line is drawn parallel to one side of a triangle to intersect 3
the other two sides in distinct points then the other two sides are divided
in the same ratio.
Q31 A train travels at a distance of 480 km at a uniform speed. If the speed 3
had been 8 km/h less, then it would have taken 3 hours more to cover
the same distance.Find the usual speed of the train
OR
The diagonal of a rectangular field is 60 metres more than the shorter side. If the
longer side is 30 metres more than the shorter side, find the sides of the field.
SECTION –D
SECTION D CONSISTS OF 4 QUESTIONS OF 5 MARKS EACH
Q32 As observed from the top of a 75 m high lighthouse from the sea level, 5
the angles of depression of two ships are 30∘ and 45∘. If one ship is
exactly behind the other on the same side of the lighthouse, find the
distance between the two ships (Use √3 = 1.732)
OR
From a point on a ground, the angle of elevation of bottom and top of a
transmission tower fixed on the top of a 20 m high building are 45° and 60°
respectively. Find the height of the tower
Q33 The sum of the digits of a two-digit number is 9. Also, nine times this 5
number is twice the number obtained by reversing the order of the digits.

Find the number.
OR
The ratio of incomes of two persons is 9:7 and the ratio of their
expenditure is 4:3. If each of them manages to save Rs 2000 per month,
find their monthly incomes
Q34 Prove that opposite sides of a quadrilateral circumscribing a circle subtend 5
supplementary angles at the centre of the circle
Q35 If the median for the following frequency distribution is 28.5, find the 5
value of x and y. Also find the mode of the data

Section E consist of 3 case based integrated units of 4 marks each

Q36 Anita’s mother starts a new shoe shop. To display the shoes, she puts 3
pairs of shoes in 1st row, 5 pairs in 2nd row, 7 pairs in 3rd row and so on
On the basis of above information, answer the following questions.
(i)How many pairs of shoes are there in the 5th row? 1
(ii) Which row contains 41 pair of shoes in the shop? 1
(iii) If she put a total of 120 pairs of shoes , then find the number of
rows required 2
OR
(iii) What is the difference of pairs of shoes in17th and 10th row?
Q37 Ramesh places a mirror on level ground to determine the height of a
pole (with traffic light fired on it). He stands at a certain distance so
that he can see the top of the pole reflected from the mirror. Ramesh’s
eye level is 1.5 m above the ground. The distance of Ramesh and the
pole from the mirror are 1.8 m and 6 m respectively

On the basis of the above information, answer the following questions:
(i) Which criterion of similarity is applicable to similar triangles? 1
(ii) What is the height of the pole? 1

(iii)Now Ramesh move behind such that distance between pole and 2
Ramesh is 13 meters. He place mirror between him and pole to see the
reflection of light in right position.
(iv) What is the distance between mirror and Ramesh
OR
(iii) What is the distance between mirror and pole?
Q38 An ice –cream seller used to sell different kinds and different
shapes of ice –cream like rectangular shaped, conical shape with
one end hemispherical and rectangular brick etc. One day sita came
to his shop and purchased an ice cream which has the following
shape: ice – cream cone as the union of a right circular cone and a
hemisphere that has the same (circular) base as cone. The height
of the cone is 9 cm and the radius of its base is 2.5 cm.

Answer the following questions:

(i)Calculate the volume of only hemi spherical end of the ice cream 1

(ii)Write the formula to calculate the total surface area of cone? 2

(iii) What is the volume of the whole ice – cream

(iii) Find the Curved surface area of the hemisphere?
