General Instructions:
Read the following instructions carefully and follow them:
1. This question paper contains 38 questions.
2. This question paper is divided into 5 sections A, B, C, D and E.
3. In Section A, question no 1-18 are multiple choice questions (MCQs)
and questions no 19 and 20 are Assertion – Reason based question of
1 mark each.
4. In Section B, question no 21 – 25 are very short answer (VSA) type
question carrying 02 marks each.
5. In Section C, question no 26 – 31 are short answer (SA) type question
carrying 03 marks each.
6. In Section D, question no 32–35 are long answer (LA) type question,
carrying 05 marks each.
7. In Section E, question no. 36–38 are case study based question
carrying 4 marks each with sub parts of the value of 1, 1 and 2 marks
each respectively.
8. All question are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 2
question of section B, 2 question of section C and 2 question of
section D has been provided. An internal choice has been provided in
all the 2 marks question of section E.

Q31. (a) Two ships are anchored on opposite sides of a lighthouse. Their
angles of depression as observed from the top of the lighthouse are
30° and 60° the line joining the ships passes through the foot of the
lighthouse. If the height of the lighthouse is 100 m, find the distance
between the ships. [Use √3 = 1.732]

(b) An aeroplane when flying at a height of 5000 m from the ground
passes vertically above another aeroplane at an instant when the
angles of elevation of the two aeroplanes from the same point on the
ground are 60° and 45° respectively. find the vertical distance between
the two aeroplanes at that instant. [Use √3 = 1.73]

(b) Two circles with centres O and O’ of radii 3 cm and 4 cm,
respectively intersect at two points P and Q such that OP and O’P are
tangents to the two circles. Find the length of the common chord PQ.

circle. If the length of the chord is 10 cm. then, find the area of the

each, while ARC and BSC are semi – circles of diameter 14 cm each.
