DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH IV
I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the 40-minutes class discussion, the pupils will be able to:
a. identify the events and morals in the story;
b. express an appreciation in the story by relating it to their personal experience
through writing a narrative essay;
c. act out the rules of lion and the mouse through short skit or role play; and
d. create a story pyramid out of the story.

Good afternoon, class.

How are you today?
We are doing great teacher!
Wow! I am glad to hear that.

But before we start our lesson for today, let’s


all stand and feel the presence of the Lord,
may I request Dianna to lead us the prayer.
Dear Lord, Thank You for bringing us
together today. Guide our minds and hearts as
we learn and grow. Grant us wisdom,
understanding, and patience. Bless our
teachers and classmates, and help us to use
our knowledge to do good. Amen.
Before you take a sit, kindly pick all the litters
under your chairs and arrange it as well.

Now! Are you excited for our new lesson for


this day?

Before we start our lesson, I have prepared


here a short activity. This activity is called
jigsaw puzzle with a twist.

Are you ready class?


Yes, ma’am.
So here’s the mechanics for our short activity.
MECHANICS:
o The class is divided into two teams.
Each team will receive a jigsaw puzzle
with an equal number of pieces.
o At the beginning of the game, each
team will appoint one member to start
the game.
o The twist is that each member needs to
flip the bottle.
o The first one to flip the battle and last
standing upward will have the chance
to take one puzzle piece and add it to
the team’s puzzle board.
o After placing the piece, the next
member takes over the same process.
o These continue until the puzzle is
completed.
o The first team completes their puzzle
wins.

video, can someone summarize what
happened in the story?

The story is about a small mouse that finds


himself in the clutches of a great lion. The
lion lets the mouse go sparing his life. When
the lion finds himself trapped in a net, the
mouse saves the great lion by chewing and

With all the discussion we had, what is the


story all about? It's about the lion and the mouse.

What can we learn from the lion and the


mouse's friendships? We can learn from the lion and the mouse's
friendships that we need to treat others with
empathy, regardless of size or status.

Even the smallest creatures can be of great


help. Friendships and loyalty know no size or
boundaries.

understood our topic for today, so we’re going
to play a game called Act Me Out.

You will be divided into five groups. And


each group must have any representative to
come in front to choose their animal model.

Okay, here are the mechanics for this activity.


 Pick one card and read the line from
the story. Call a friend from the group
to act out what is written.
 The other group, including your group
will guess which part/plot of the story
what is being acted.
 Just raise your logo and yell your
animal sound if you wish to answer.
 Every correct answer is equivalent to 2
points, +1 point for the plot. The
group who got the highest point, win!
