Helping Xolani
Meet Xolani, he has a difficult decision to make and needs your help. Xolani loves playing soccer and has been
chosen to play in the 1st team for the school. He is really proud he made the team as he is only 15 years’ old
which would make him the youngest player on the team.
On Monday, after the practice, his new friends were talking about the party they went to on Friday night and
how they all got completely drunk. Xolani had never drank alcohol before and did not really want to try it as his
dad was an alcoholic.
The team were playing a big tournament this coming weekend and they would stay the night at a local hostel.
They were already talking about the huge party they had planned for later that evening. Xolani knew that there
would be a lot of alcohol. He did not know what to do. He did not want to lose his new friends but at the same
time he did not want to start drinking alcohol.
E What could Xolani do to learn more about what actions he can take and what consequences it would have?
