(i) (a) Draw a diagram to show the wave pattern of high pitch note and low pitch note
but of same loudness.
(b) Name the subjective property of sound related to its frequency. [2+1]
(ii) A boy has wooden blocks in his both hands.He claps block together with a regular gap
between the claps so that each clap coincides with the echo of the last clap returning from
the wall. Distance between person and wall is 100m. Time noted for 50 claps is 29s.
Calculate the speed of sound. [3]
(iii) Calculate the resistance between terminals P and Q. [4]

(i) A cell of emf 1.5V and internal resistance 1  are connected to two resistors of 4 
and 20  in series as shown in the figure.

(i) An object of height 5cm is placed perpendicular to the principle axis of concave lens of
focal length 10cm. If the distance of object from the optical centre of the lens is 20cm
Determine the position, nature and size of image formed using the lens formula. [4]

(ii) When a ray of monochromatic green light enters a liquid from air as shown in the figure
given below.

The angle 1 is 450 and angle 2 is 300.


(a) Determine the refractive index of the liquid.
(b) Represent in the diagram showing the path of ray after it strikes the mirror and re-
enters air. Mark in the diagram wherever necessary.
(c) Draw the diagram again if plane mirror becomes normal to the refracted ray

(ii) Ram wants to know the deviation of refracted ray through water diamond interface. The
refractive index of diamond and water with respect to air are 2.42 and 1.33 respectively.
(a) If the light ray travel from diamond to water then draw the diagram by showing
refracted ray and mark angle of incidence and refraction.

(b) If the light ray travels from water to diamond then draw the diagram by showing
the refracted ray and mark angle of incidence and refraction.

(iii) What mass of ice at 00C added to 2.1Kg water will cool it down from 750C to 250C?
