8. Setup → Level
9. Setup → Distance
Indicates the measured distance from the reference point R to the level L.
Compare distance indicated on the display to real distance in order to start the recording
of an interference echo map.

Cancel
No action is executed and the user exits the parameter.
Execute backup
A backup copy of the current device configuration in the HistoROM (built-in in the device) is saved
to the display module of the device.
Restore
The last backup copy of the device configuration is copied from the display module to the HistoROM
of the device.
Duplicate
The transmitter configuration is duplicated to another device using the transmitter display module.
The following parameters, which characterize the individual measuring point are not included in
the transmitted configuration:–HART date code–HART short tag–HART message–HART descriptor–
HART address–Device tag–Medium type
Compare
The device configuration saved in the display module is compared to the current device
configuration of the HistoROM. The result of this comparison is displayed in the Comparison result
parameter (→ 154).

No action
• To factory defaults
• To delivery settings
All parameters are reset to the delivery setting. The delivery setting may differ from the factory
default if customer specific settings have been ordered. This option is only visible if customer specific
settings have been ordered.
• Of customer settings
All customer parameters are reset to their factory setting. Service parameters, however, remain
unchanged.
• To transducer defaults
Every measurment-related parameter is reset to its factory setting. Service parameters and
communication-related parameters, however, remain unchanged.
• Restart device
The restart resets every parameter which is stored in the volatile memory (RAM) to the factory
setting (e.g. measured value data). The device configuration remains unchanged.
Note: If, for example, the measuring range covers only an upper part of the tank (E << tank
height), it is mandatory to enter the acutal tank height into the "Setup Advanced Setup
Level Tank/silo height" parameter.
It is strongly recommended to adjust the maximum filling and draining speed to the actual
process.

Diagnostic message
F- "Failure"A device error is present. The measured value is no longer valid.
C- "Function check"The device is in service mode (e.g. during a simulation).
S- "Out of specification"The device is operated:•Outside of its technical specifications (e.g.
during startup or a cleaning)•Outside of the configuration carried out by the user (e.g. level
outside configured span)
M- Maintenance required"Maintenance is required. The measured value is still valid.
Mapping" sequence
Setup Mapping Confirm distance
Manual map
• Distance ok
• Distance unknown
• Distance too small
• Distance too big 1)
• Tank empty
• Factory map
Meaning of the options
• Manual map To be selected if the range of mapping is to be defined manually in
the Mapping end point parameter. In this case it is not necessary to confirm the
distance.
• Distance ok To be selected if the measured distance matches the actual distance.
The device performs a mapping and quits the sequence ("End of sequence" appears
on the display).
• Distance unknown To be selected if the actual distance is unknown. A mapping
can not be performed and the device quits the sequence ("End of sequence"
appears on the display).
• Distance too small To be selected if the measured distance is smaller than the
actual distance. The device searches the next echo and returns to the Confirm
distance parameter. The new distance is displayed. The comparison must be
repeated until the displayed distance matches the actual distance. If this is the case,
the recording of the map can be started by selecting Distance ok.
• Distance too big To be selected if the measured distance is bigger than the actual
distance. The device adjusts the signal evaluation and returns to the Confirm
distance parameter. The distance is recalculated and displayed. The comparison
must be repeated until the displayed distance matches the actual distance.
• Tank empty To be selected if the tank is completely empty. The device records a
mapping covering the complete length of the probe and quits the sequence ("End of
sequence" appears on the display).
• Factory map To be selected if the present mapping curve (if one exists) is to be
deleted. The device returns to the Confirm distance parameter and a new mapping
can be recorded.
