Time: 2 hours Set Total Marks: 50
Section A: Lines and Angles (Chapter 6) (18 Marks)
1. Find the complement of each of the following angles: (i) 25° (ii) 63° (iii) 45° (iv) 80° (v) x° (vi)
3y°
2. Find the supplement of each of the following angles: (i) 105° (ii) 87° (iii) 154° (iv) 95° (v) 120°
(vi) (180-x)°
3. Two supplementary angles are in the ratio 2:3. Find the angles.
4. An angle is equal to five times its complement. Determine its measure.
5. Find the value of x if the angles (2x + 10)° and (3x - 20)° are supplementary.
6. In the given figure, if l || m, find the value of x. (Figure would be provided)
7. If a transversal intersects two parallel lines such that the bisectors of a pair of corresponding
angles are parallel, prove that the two lines are parallel. (Figure would be provided)
8. The exterior angles of a triangle are 125° and 130°. Find the three angles of the triangle.
Section B: Triangles (Chapter 7) (18 Marks)
1. Two sides of a triangle are of lengths 5 cm and 12 cm. What can be the length of the third
side?

3. In ΔABC, ∠A = 36° and ∠B = 64°. Find ∠C.

2. The angles of a triangle are in the ratio 1:2:3. Find the angles.

5. In ΔABC, ∠B = 90° and BD is the median to AC. If AD = 8 cm and CD = 10 cm, find BD.
4. The angles of a triangle are x°, (x+20)° and (2x+10)°. Find the value of x.

6. If the angles of a triangle are in the ratio 2:3:4, find the measure of each angle.
7. The sides of a triangle are in the ratio 3:4:5. If the area of the triangle is 30 sq cm, find the
lengths of the sides.
8. The perimeter of an isosceles triangle is 44 cm. The base is 12 cm. Find the length of the two
equal sides.
Section C: Areas of Parallelograms and Triangles (Chapter 9) (14 Marks)
1. The base of a triangle is 8 cm and its area is 24 sq cm. Find the corresponding altitude.
2. The area of a parallelogram is 48 sq cm. If the base is 6 cm, find the height.
3. If the sides of a triangle are 6 cm, 8 cm and 10 cm, find its area.
4. A triangle and a parallelogram have the same base and the same area. If the sides of the
triangle are 13 cm, 14 cm and 15 cm, and the1 base of both is 14 cm, find the height of the
parallelogram.
5. The area of a rhombus is 240 sq cm and one of the diagonals is 16 cm. Find the other
diagonal.
6. Find the area of a trapezium whose parallel sides are 10 cm and 12 cm and the distance
between them is 8 cm.
7. The base of a triangle is 12 cm and the height is 5 cm. Calculate its area.
