Hello everyone, my name is Do Thi Kim Ngan,

a student in grade 11V. Today I will talk about

the traditional Vietnamese New Year festival.

Traiditonal Tet takes place on the first day of

the lunar new year, usually around January or

February of the solar calendar.Tet also has

many meanings, first is An opportunity for

everyone to rest after a year of hard work, the

second is An opportunity for every family to

enjoy reunions, gather, and finally, it is An

opportunity for people to pray Good health-

Prosperity. Next will be some customs on Tet

holiday. The first is CLEAN and DECORATE

YOUR HOME, People often clean their houses


to welcome a new and bright Houses are

decorated with traditional decorations such as

couplets and peach blossoms,...second is

PREPARE DELICIOUS DISHES, Traditional

dishes on Tet holiday are usually banh chung,

banh tet, chicken, pork,.. And finally WISHING

NEW YEAR TO RELATIVES, People often bring

Tet gifts such as cakes, jam, wine, tea to give

to relatives and friends. finally, the values

that Tet brings, this is an occasion for families

to gather, remember ancestors, honor

Vietnamese culture. In short, traditional Tet is

not only an important holiday Dfor

Vietnamese people but also a way to preserve


traditions and nurture the sense of

community of Vietnamese people.Thank you
