-water is removed by physical adsorption using 13XPG sieve (sodium aluminum silicate) O O - Operating Temp (OT) = 40 C, high alarm at 55 C O Bed is regenerated with hot nitrogen (1360 kg/h @ 270 C ETHYLENE TRAIN ESD- 2 bed temp reached 125OC for 2 mins.
1. Interchanger O - The 25-30 C supply C2 will interact with the o warmer (100 C) C2 flow from deoxo vessel (tube side) to help warm it prior to entering the sulfur removal bed. O -C2 flow at 100 C from deoxo vessel through the tube side of the interchanger. Here it interchanges w/ the cooler incoming C2 flow (shell side) to help cool the O warmer C2 to 40 C prior to entering dryer. 2. Preheater -Tube and shell type heater used for controlling O the temp of the incoming C2 bet. 25 35 C O - OT = 100 C using low pressure steam 3. Sulfur Removal - Sulfur is removed in bed of zinc oxide catalyst - bed is non-regenerable; OT = 100OC H2S + ZnO ZnS + H2OCOS + ZnO ZnS + C O2 4. CO removal - CO is converted to CO2 in bed of G-66B Type 2130 catalyst (29 wt% Cu and 71 wt% ZnO) O CO + CuO CO2 + Cu ; OT = 100 C 5. O2 Removal - O2 is removed by copper chromite on silicon dioxide catalyst (UCC1101) 4Cu + O2 2CU2O (at normal temp) 2Cu2O + O2 4CuO (further oxidation at greater O2 conc.)
Hexane (ICA) -inert material (does not take part in the reaction) -helps take away the heat of reaction by vaporizing at the reactor inlet NITROGEN Uses: -inert in the reactor -regeneration reaction -equipment purging

N2 Compressor -2 stage reciprocating compressor, 150 kW power supply; uses cooling water; w/ suction pressure = 550 kPag 8. N2 Surge Tank -buffer tank for HPPN supply press. to PE is 3560 kpag, for PP is 4500 kPag and capacity = 4.75 m3 PROPYLENE -highly explosive if leaks occurs due to vapour accumulation on the ground -auto-ignition temp at 455oC

PP Sulfur Removal Bed - sulfur is removed in a bed of Promoted Activated aluminum catalyst (Alcoc Selexsorb Cos) H2S + ZnO ZnS + H2OCOS + ZnO ZnS + CO2 OT = 40oC; bed is regenerable w/ hot N2 4. PP MAP Removal Bed -uses united catalyst G68F as catalyst -acetylene, methyl/acetylene and propadiene are removed from the propylene feed by reaction w/ H2 in the presence of palladium in aluminum catalyst -bed is non-regenerable with bed life of 3-5 yrs. OT = 40oC 5. Water Removal Bed Water is removed by physical adsorption with 13XPG sieve (sodium aluminum silicate); OTP = 40oC @ 2160 kPag & high alarm @ 55oC; bed is regenerable w/ hot N2 6. PP Charge Pump -Pressurized PP to above reactor operating press -Sundyne pump (Tandem Seal) -discharge pressure of 4200 kPag -filling, priming,and jaggingneeded before startup. 7. PP Filter used to prevent dust particles that may have sifted thru the purification bed from entering the reactor process TEAL
1. PP Degassing Column -condenser, surge tank & reboiler -OTP = 54 oC, 2100 kPag -30 trays column, 32 valves/tray, 840 tubes condenser -lights in column are vented in the condenser outlet to the flare 2. Aftercooler

Teal Waste Disposal Tank -containswaste teal & MO from teal system 6. MO Blow Tank -storage tank of MO (0,26m3) -MO is pump by an Air Drum Pump from drum to MOBT -avoid H2O contamination of the MO -N2 purging done to remove O2 content 7. MO Pump 8. MO Drum Bed Regeneration process of restoring the spent catalyst into its active state by passing or regeneration gas(usually N2) and doing particular process(either reduction or oxidation) depending on the catalyst type Preloading-process of introducing hydrocarbon in controlled amount, normally w/ N2 carrier gas to a fully regenerated molecular sieve prior to putting vessel into normal service. This is done to prevent heat of adsorption, released as the HC loads on the sieve and from causing a higher bed temp.
