Kinds of test and testing Test can be divided into a few of criterion.

Based on the when to test, how to score, how real the situation is, how and what are the students compared to, and how much to test, one of a time ore together. Proficiency test Proficiency tests are designed to measure peoples ability in language regardless of any training they may have had in that language (Hughes, 1989). Proficiency test based on specification of what the candidates want to know/to do in language which consider the proficient of the candidates itself, is not based on the objectives of language courses which the candidates take.

Testing of Writing Skill In explanation above we have known about the testing reading and listening. Now, will be focuses on the testing writing and speaking. Testing writing skill is the best way in order to know the students or a persons writing ability. There are a lot of thing we must take a look in testing writing such as to consider the ability of the student, so we have to test the material or the subject which will be able to perform by students, beside that the samples of test must be valid and reliably. What to Test? There is certain point which we have to test in testing writing. First, we have to identify the content/idea of the writing task, idea is very important in writing test, how clarity and how prestige the idea is. Besides that, we have to test the structure of language of testee, including the vocabulary, sentence complexity also the accuracy of the testee in perform the test. Testing of Speaking Skill Generally, testing speaking are the same as to testing writing. Testing speaking perform to assess the ability to interact and communicate successfully in that language itself. It should choose the objective which represent the candidates ability and that will be scored reliably and validly. Testing speaking would represent the candidates ability in speaking, how the grammar, pronunciation, presentation skill and also the format of the testee What to Test In speaking test we have to identify the content of speaking such as the operations, types of text topics and addresses. The operation is a part in speaking interaction which may involve language functions, including the expressing, narrating, eliciting, directing and reporting. Whereas, the text types include the dialogue and multi-participants interactions of a face-toface dialogue.

Kinds of testing speaking form The format which often use in testing speaking as below: 1. Interview. This traditionally form of oral interactions was obviously in testing speaking but this form has the lacks, the candidates seem unwilling to take initiative. 2. Interaction with peers, it is can be such a short conversation between two or more than two candidate or to discuss some topic, make a planning and so on. 3. Response to tape-recordings. Sometimes, the candidate will be testing by giving the same audio/video of tape recordings as a stimulus. 4. Speech. It may be in a form of speech, so the student will be demand to speech in front of the scorer and then will be scored. Include as wide a sample of specified content as is possible in the time available. Plan the test carefully. Give the candidate as many fresh starts as possible. Select interviewers carefully and train them. Use a second tester for interviews. Set only tasks and topics that would be expected to cause candidates no difficulty in their own language. 8. Obtaining valid and reliable scoring The scoring will be valid if the tester clearly recognizes and appropriate descriptions of criteria levels are written and scorers are trained to use them. Besides that, the tester has to ignore irrelevant features of performance, and the last is there is more than one scorer for each performance. It is not easy to measure the speaking ability accurately, we need to bargain away the hard effort and invest many time to achieve the valid and reliable results.
