Dahil sa problema na hinaharap ng bansang Pilipinas at China tungkol sa S c a r b o r o u g h (Panatag) Shoal, naalma umano ang sambayanang Pilipino kung kaya't tanging pananalig sa Poong Maykapal ang mabisang paraan para malutas ang problema. Pinangunahan ni Archbishop Socrates Villegas ang nasabing prayer vigil at sa kanyang mensahe ay binigyang lakas loob ang mga debotong Katoliko na patuloy na magdasal sapagkat sa pamamagitan nito ay maaring makuha sa diplomatikong usapin ang sigalot ng dalawang bansa.
