Mid-Life Crisis: Will County is currently in the midst of a two game losing streak after dropping both games against the Southland Vikings yesterday, and are only 5-5 in their last ten games. These struggles are coming right in the middle of the season, when the team is fighting for playoff positioning. They also havent beaten a team with a winning record since Wednesday, June 27, when they beat the now first place Northwest Indiana Oilmen. Silent Sunday: After scoring double-digit runs in each of their past three games heading into Sunday, the CrackerJacks put up only one run in the doubleheader against the Vikings. They also combined for only six hits all day and four different Vikings players scored more runs themselves than the CrackerJacks entire team. Pitching Gone Stale: Over the past five games, the CrackerJacks have yet to get a quality start from any of their starting pitchers. They have managed to get 3-2 in that span due to some great hitting in the victories, but the doubleheader against Southland featured below average pitching, poor hitting, and some struggles fielding the ball as well. Knowing The Enemy: The Illinois Lincolns are right on the CrackerJacks and Oilmens heels for first place in the South Division. In three games against the Lincolns, the Jacks are winless this season. The Lincolns remain the lone team in the MCL the CrackerJacks have yet to defeat, and will look to do so for the first time today. Time for a Break: Today is the last game before a three day allstar break in the Midwest Collegiate League. Six CrackerJacks will be representing the South Division in the All-Star Game on Wednesday, July 11. Last year, the Jacks were 15-9 in MCL play heading into the break, and won their last game before the break.
