Tyson won his first 19 fights 16 by knockouts 12 in the first round First professional fight: March 6, 1985, in Albany, New York. He defeated Hector Mercedes via a first round knockout

First Televised Fight


On February 16, 1986, at Houston Field House in Troy, New York against journeyman heavyweight Jesse Ferguson. Tyson broke Fergusons nose in the fifth round and the ref called it in the sixth. (due to blood)

Youngest Champ ever


On November 22, 1986, Tyson was given his first title fight against Trevor Berbick for the World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight championship. Tyson won the title by second round TKO, and at the age of 20 years and 4 months became the youngest heavyweight champion in history.

Deadly
