Studies show IT can account for up to 6% of global emissions by 2020 if not addressed. Papers analyze the environmental effects of IT at a university, how IT can reduce corporate impacts, benchmark green IT practices globally, and discuss ICT's complex impacts. While direct IT infrastructure has costs, virtualization and remote collaboration yield indirect benefits. Governments have a role to help maximize opportunities and minimize negatives of increased IT diffusion on sustainability.

    New technology becoming more demanding for power What is the cost to the new technology ? - Impact on air, - Water that we drink The scientist say by the year 2025-2030 60% of the world will be struggling to breath and the power requirements will go up by 70%. The positive side - lives are a lot easier then it was 30 years ago.
