OBJECTIVE: To reduce morbidity, mortality among infants caused by childhood immunizable diseases. FULLY IMMUNIZED CHILD: (FIC) A child who received 1 dose of BCG at birth, 1 dose of Hepa B at birth, 3 doses of Penta, 3 doses of OPV, 1 dose of Measles vaccine reaching the age of 9 months up to 12 months.

COMPLETE IMMUNIZED CHILD: (CIC) A child who received all the antigen but not at the target age of 12 months. 5 Rs in EPI Right child Right vaccine Right doses Right site/ route Right interval

Poliomyelitis Measles Diphtheria Pertussis (whooping cough) Tetanus Tuberculosis Hepatitis B Rotavirus Haemophilus Influenzae Type B infection

OPV & ROTA by mouth

PENTA /Hepa B Upper, outer thigh Intramuscular

Intramuscular deep into the muscle, 90 position perpendicular to the site of injection Subcutaneous just below the skin, at a slanting position, 45 to the site of injection Intradermal top layer of the skin, needle almost 15 parallel to the site of injection
