TORRY KANYAN SUPER TANKER WAS
SHIPWRECKED OFF THE COAST OF CORNWALL,
ENGLAND IN MARCH 1968. THE SPILLAGE WAS OVER
100000 TONES OF CRUDE OIL .
THIS INCIDENT WAS THE MAJOR REASON FOR THE
MARPOL 73 CONVENTION.
