    Sulaiman Gamaba was a renowned Maguindanaon musician from Mamasapano, Maguindanao who received recognition for his mastery of the indigenous kutyapi instrument. He learned to play kutyapi at age 13 from his uncle and by age 35 was recognized for his skills in playing kutyapi as well as teaching others. In addition to kutyapi, Sulaiman was also skilled in playing other traditional Maguindanaon instruments and served as a barber and imam at a local mosque.
