ABOUT THE COUNTRY
• The Netherlands is located in Northwestern Europe
• Their capital is Amsterdam
• Is separated into two parts of the country. The low and the high lands
• More than a quarter of the Netherlands is below sea level
AMSTERDAM
Is the capital city and most populous municipality of the Netherlands.
Amsterdam has a population of 854,047.
Parks and nature reserves make up 12% of Amsterdam's land area.
Their currency is Euro.
THE HAGUE

• Is the city where is located the seat of government of the Netherlands


• Is located in the west of the country
• Is known as the home of international law and arbitration
ROTTERDAM
• Is situated on the south of the country
• They have Europe’s largest port, and the second of the world
• Is known by the University Erasmus, its cultural life and its maritime
heritage
CANALS OF AMSTERDAM
• Amsterdam has more than one hundred kilometers and more than
one thousand bridges that cross it.
• Is named, the Venice of the north.
MOUNTAINS
• The Vaalserberg (Monte Vaals) is the highest point in the Netherlands,
it is a hill that has only 321 meters high.
• It is known as the "Point of the Three Countries" due to the fact that
the Dutch, Belgian and German borders converge.
The Van Gogh Museum
• Van Gogh Museum maintains the world’s largest collection of
paintings, drawings and letters of Vincent Van Gogh
• Each year, 1.6 million visitors come to the Van Gogh Museum, making
it one of the 25 most popular museums in the world.
Anne Frank House
• Anne Frank House is the house where she and her family hid in the
second world war
• More than one million people visited last year
• Is situated on a canal, in Central Amsterdam
SPORTS
Sport is a very important part in the life of the Dutch.
Cycling is the most important sport in the country, being the most
successful
The most practical sports activities in the Netherlands are football,
cycling and swimming
FOOD
• Dutch cuisine is based on bread and potatoes, many of their typical
dishes are based on one of these two ingredients.
