 It provides the capability to generate instant & accurate report
which helps the management to take speedy & correct decisions
for growth of company.
 It provide flexibility to generate instant report for any given
period of time.
 It offers a special auditors version which provides auditing
capabilities exclusively for chartered accounts.
 It provides facility of immediate posting & updation of book of
accounts as soon as transaction are entered.

 This screen is divided into
four parts:
 Product information
 Work area
 Button bar
 calculator
 This is the company
information screen of
tally from which we
can select or create
company and can take
backup of data or can
restore the data. by
selecting related
option from the
company information
screen
 This is the company
creation screen by which
we can create a new
company
 To create a new company:
 Go to gateway of tally >
press alt +f3 > company
info.>create company
 After filling all necessary
information anew
company can be seen at
the gateway of tally screen
In tally after creating a company with the
required information one can now modify
accounting & inventory features by
Pressing key: F11.

Following are the features of company:


 Accounting feature
 Inventory feature
 Statutory feature
 In tally by default there are 20 vouchers
 Some of there are as follow:
 Contra voucher :to activate contra voucher pressF4
 Payment voucher: to activate payment voucher pressF5
 Receipt voucher: to activate receipt voucher pressF6
 Journal voucher: to activate journal voucher pressF7
 Sales voucher: to activate sales voucher pressF8
 Purchase voucher: to activate purchase voucher pressF9
 Tally allows us to create
different types of vouchers
& record, classify &
segregate voucher as per our
requirements.
 For example we can further
classify sales voucher by
creating voucher type
CREDIT SALES & CASH
SALES
 To create a new voucher
type from gateway of tally
select account info.>
voucher type >create.
 Tally makes our work easier by providing us the capability
to generate various financial statements & other reports
which can be help full for the management of the business
& also becomes helpful for effective control & decision
making
 Following are categories of reports available in tally:
 Financial statements
 Books & registers
 Statements of accounts
 Financial statement summaries the individual transactions
to show totals,ratios & statistics required by the users to
analyze the company’s financial data in a different way
 The financial statements are classified into three major
statements which forms part of the statutory requirements
are:
 Balance sheet
 Profit &loss a/c
 Trial balance
 Balance sheet is a
financial statement
that reports the firm’s
financial position at a
specific time it shows
a balance between the
assets & liability of a
firm & the owners
fund.
 To view balance sheet
go to gateway of
tally>balance sheet
 Profit & loss a/c is a
periodic statement which
shows the net result of
business operation for a
specified period.
 It is updated instantly with
every transaction &
voucher that is entered &
saved.
 To view profit & loss a/c
press profit &loss from
gateway of tally.
 By pressing F2 we can
change the period as per
our requirement.
