 Descriptive paragraph is a

paragraph which expresses or

describes place, thing and person
in such vivid detail that the
readers can easily visualize the
described place, thing and
person, or can feel that they
involve in the experience.
 a. Identification
 You identify or write general statement of
the place, person, or thing that you want to
describe.
 b. Descriptions
 You describe the place, person, or thing
which is going to be described.
 c. Conclusion
 This part may be included or not. It can be
restatement or conclusion of the
paragraph.
 My brother Michael’s bedroom
shows his big interest in fantasy
and science fiction. Glow-in-the-
dark stars are pasted on the
ceiling where, at night, they glow
in the dark. Other stars can be
seen covering the ceiling during
the day, giving the appearance
of a starry sky
 Movie posters line the walls. There is a
poster of The Matrix in a shiny frame.
Below the posters are two black steel
bookcases crowded with old books. Old
videos like Raiders of the Lost Ark and
Alien are also stacked on the
bookshelves. Anyone entering my
brother’s room knows at once that
Michael likes to escape to fantastic
places.
 SUBJECTIVE DESCRIPTION
 It allows you to provide an emotional
account and evoke feelings.
 OBJECTIVE DESCIPTION
 It uses neutral words, since they do not
evoke emotions, this type of
description generally provides
information without adding feelings.
 Descriptive writing is when an author uses
carefully selected words to help create a
vivid picture in the reader's mind.
Oftentimes, these words involve sensory
details, which focus on the sights, sounds,
smells, tastes, and feelings that are
associated with a particular topic.
 The goal of descriptive writing is for readers
to feel like they are actually experiencing
what an author is describing.
