CLASSIFICATION BASED ON INSRUMENTS

THIS IS THE SIMPLEST TYPE OF SURVEYING IN WHICH


ONLY LINEAR MEASUREMENTS ARE MADE WITH A
CHAIN OR TAPE. ANGULAR MEASUREMENTS ARE
NOT TAKEN.
THIS IS ONE OF THE TYPE OF SURVEYING IN WHICH
ONLY ANGULAR MEASUREMENTS ARE MADE WITH
A COMPASS

THESE COMPASS ARE OF TWO TYPES. THEYARE

1.SURVEYOR’S COMPASS

2.PRISMATIC COMPASS
THE PRINCILE OF COMPASS SURVEYIMG IS TRAVERSIN
WHICH INVOLVES A SERIES OF CONNECTED LINES.

THE MAGNETIC BEARING OF THE LINES ARE MEASURE


BY PRISMATIC COMPASS.

COMPASS SURVEYING IS RECOMMENDED WHEN THE


AREA IS LARGE, UNDULATING AND CROWDED WITH
MANY DETAILS.

COMPASS SURVEYING IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR


AREAS WHERE LOCAL ATTRACTION IS SUSPECTED DU
THE PRESENCE OF MAGNETIC LSUBSTANCES LIKE STE
IRON ORE DEPOSITS ,ELECTRICAL CABLES ETC...,
SURVEYOR’S COMPASSS
IT IS SIMILAR TO A SURVEYORS
COMPASS EXCEPT THAT IT HAS APRISM
AND AEYE TO LOOK THROUGH

THE READINGS HERE ARE OF WHOLE


CIRCLE BEARINGS TPYE AND THE
TOTAL ANGLE IS OF 360

THE INSTRUMENT CANNOT BE USED
