Media Text
• The term media text refers to any
media product we wish to examine
and from which we derive meaning
value.
• It could be newspaper and magazines
articles, comics, films, TV shows,
music, performances, interviews, or
talks.
Digital Media
• Is digitized content-texts, audio , video,
and graphics– That can be transmitted
over the internet or computer networks.
• This means that content from traditional
media like a TV network or a magazine
that is presented on a website or blog can
fall under this category.
Types of Digital
Media
Podcast

• A podcast is an episodic series


of digital audio or video files which a
user can download in order to listen.
Alternatively, the word "podcast" may
refer to the individual component of
such a series or to an individual media
file.

E-books
• An electronic book, also known as an e-
book or eBook, is a book publication made
available in digital form, consisting of text,
images, or both, readable on the flat-panel
display of computers or other electronic
devices.[1] Although sometimes defined as "an
electronic version of a printed book",[2] some e-
books exist without a printed equivalent. E-
books can be read on dedicated e-readerdevices,
but also on any computer device that features a
controllable viewing screen, including desktop
computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones.
Digital Story
• A Digital Story can be made from a
range of audio and visual elements.
The backbone of a Digital Story is a
written script - approximately 250
words long. Your script is turned into
an audio voice over and combined
with visuals such as photos, drawings,
diagrams, video, and animation to
create a Digital Story.
Vlog
• A video blog or video log, usually
shortened to vlog /vlɒɡ/, is a form of blog
for which the medium is video, and is a
form of web television. Vlog entries often
combine embedded video (or a video link)
with supporting text, images, and other
metadata. Entries can be recorded in one
take or cut into multiple parts.
TED talk
• A TED talk is a video created from a presentation at the
main TED (technology, entertainment, design) conference or
one of its many satellite events around the world.
• TED talks are limited to a maximum length of 18 minutes but
may be on any topic. Here's the TEDx website's explanation
of selection criteria: "TED looks for engaging, charismatic
speakers whose talks expose new ideas that are supported by
concrete evidence and are relevant to a broad, international
audience.“
• The first TED conference was in 1984; the conference has
been held annually since 1990. Over the years, presenters of
TED talks have included Al Gore, Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Bono,
Jane Goodall, Malcolm Gladwell, Gordon Brown, Richard
Dawkins Mike Rowe, Larry Page, Sergey Brin and Vint Cerf.
