    Ang Kiukok was a Filipino painter of Chinese descent who was named a National Artist for Visual Arts in 2002. He won many awards over his career, including the Outstanding Overseas Chinese in Art Award in 1961 and the Outstanding Citizen award from Manila in 1976. Kiukok's paintings often featured still lifes and won prizes in competitions for works such as "Still Life" in 1951 and "Still Life in Red" in 1963. Although not Filipino by blood, he was considered Filipino by heart for his contributions to Philippine art.
