ARTIFICIAL INTELIGENCE

What is AI?
• In computer science, artificial intelligence (AI), sometimes called
machine intelligence, is intelligence demonstrated by machines, in
contrast to the natural intelligence displayed by humans.
• The main advantage of using artificial intelligence machines,
computers, etc is to impersonate the activities which were earlier
done by human beings and ease their lives.
History of AI
• Artificial Intelligence is not a new word and not a new technology for
researchers.
• This technology is much older than you would imagine. Even there
are the myths of Mechanical men in Ancient Greek and Egyptian
Myths.
• Following are some milestones in the history of AI which defines the
journey from the AI generation to till date development.
FEATURES OF AI
• Deep Learning Technology.
• Natural Language Processing.
• Image Processing, Recognition and Classification.
• Quantum Computing.
• Computer Vision
Goals of AI:

• The main AI goals are mentioned below,

• Creating expert systems:
• The systems which are mentioned here should have the ability to
display intelligent behaviour, learn, demonstrate, explain, and provide
the users with the best pieces of advice.
• Implementing Intelligence in machines:
• This intends to develop systems which can understand, think, learn,
and behave like humans
ADVANTAGES
• Creating New Jobs
• Bridging Language Divides
• Transforming Government
• Delivering Health Care
• Creating Art
• Medical Applications
• No Breaks
• Error reduction
DISADVANTAGES
• High Cost
• No Replicating Humans
• No Improvement with Experience
• No Original Creativity
• Unemployment
AI in fashion industry
• The fashion industry is just as much about creating demand and
brand awareness as it is about the manufacturing of fashion products.
• Clothing and apparel brands are constantly looking for new ways to
get their goods in front of buyers and create awareness and demand
in the market.
• Increasingly, fashion brands are using AI and machine learning to
maximize users’ shopping experience, improve the efficiency of sales
systems through intelligent automation, and enhance the sales
processes using predictive analytics and guided sales processes.
DIOR
Dior, is a French luxury goods company controlled and chaired by
French businessman Bernard Arnault.
The company was founded in 1946 by designer Christian Dior.
It currently designs and retails leather goods, fashion accessories,
footwear, jewelry, timepieces, fragrance, makeup, and skin care
products, while also maintaining its tradition as a creator of haute-
couture under the Christian Dior Couture division.
Chatbot
• A chatbot is a piece of software that conducts a conversation via
auditory or textual methods.
• Such programs are often designed to convincingly simulate how a
human would behave as a conversational partner, although as of
2019, they are far short of being able to pass the Turing test.
• Chatbots are typically used in dialog systems for various practical
purposes including customer service or information acquisition.
• Some chatbots use sophisticated natural language processing
systems, but many simpler ones scan for keywords within the input,
then pull a reply with the most matching keywords, or the most
similar wording pattern, from a database.
Dior insider
• Dior launched a new experience via Facebook Messenger called Dior
Insider.
• Similar to other brands’ strategies, consumers interested in learning
the latest Dior news or who have questions regarding a product can
interact with an interactive chatbot software.
• When a Facebook Messenger icon is clicked within the email’s body a
new Messenger window opens.
• Once signed in to Facebook, Dior Insider says, “Exclusively discover all
the latest beauty news, products and tips of the house of Dior.”
• The artificial intelligence behind Dior Insider begins by greeting the
user by name and asking if she is one of Dior’s privileged clients.
• If the users responds no, Dior Inside says “Not yet… it’s just a matter
of time” with a wink emoji.
• Prompts continue by asking what the user is looking for, giving a
choice of skincare or makeup.
• Within this prompt, Dior Insider suggests products such as the latest
addition to the Dior Addict lipstick line.
• Along with prompts and suggestions, Dior incorporates emojis and GIFs to
create a fun and playful experience for consumers.
• For example, Dior Insider begins to play the Jennifer Lawrence-fronted
campaign.
• Dior Insider then asks if the user would be interested in hearing what Ms.
Lawrence thinks of the product.
• By saying, “yes, with pleasure,” Dior Insider begins an interview with Ms.
Lawrence where she talks about her first time in Los Angeles and the
lipsticks.
• Dior Insider also promotes the brand’s beauty and primary Instagram
accounts to help consumers keep the most up-to-date.
• The content provided by Dior Insider is also commerce enabled, with
the chatbot sharing shoppable slideshows and a one-click link to
Dior’s Web site.
• Continuing the interaction is a video of tips from Peter Philips, Dior
Makeup’s creative director, and an invitation to visit a Dior beauty
counter for a consultation and custom tips.
• The chatbot then asks for user’s location to find the nearest store.
DIOR EYES

• Dior Eyes is a new virtual reality headset.

• Packed with cutting-edge technology, the headset was designed
entirely by Dior’s own workshops.
• The headset is equipped with high-definition image resolution and
integrated holophonic audio.
• It creates a 3D immersion into the backstage world at a fashion show,
including the sensation of 360° vision, letting visitors move about in
the virtual universe.
• VR headset lets Dior lovers discover what happens behind the scenes
and marvel at the superb craftsmanship that goes into one of the
most impressive shows on the Paris fashion calendar.
