    Bata was founded in 1894 in Zlín, Austria-Hungary (now Czech Republic) by Tomáš Baťa and his siblings. It is now headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland. Bata established its first operations in India in 1931 by renting a building in Konnagar to begin experimental shoe production. Jan Antonín Baťa then built an industrial city called Batanagar in 1934 and other factories in India, employing over 7,000 people.     History
     It’s a  multinational footwear and fashion accessory manufacturer and retailer,
    founded in the town of Zlín (Austria-Hungary) today the Czech Republic
     Now it’s headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland
     It was founded on 24 August 1894
     It was founded by  Tomáš Baťa his brother Antonín and his sister Anna
     Company started it’s workforce with 10 full-time employees with a fixed work
    schedule and a regular weekly wage
     They have a shoe museum at Toronto it’s operated by a charitable foundation
    Indian Connection
     The company first established itself in India in 1931 by renting a building to start an
    experimental shoe production plant in Konnagar with 75 Czechoslovak experts
      Jan Antonín Baťa then built up an industrial manufacturing city called Batanagar in 1934, as
    well as other factories in Delhi and Patna and elsewhere in India, employing more than 7,000
    people.
