Tukey Test
Also known as the Tukey's test, Tukey method, Tukey's
honest significance test, or Tukey's HSD (honestly
significant difference) test
output.
Note the following:
• Means (Mi & Mj). Assume A
& B as first mean to test
• Mean Square Within (MSw)
• Number per
treatment/group (nh) MSw
• Degrees of freedom Within dfw
BEST FOR You 7
(dfw) O R G A N I C S C O M PA N Y
Note:
The Mi should always
equivalent to the
highest mean of two
chosen sample mean
Step 3
Calculate Tukey
(HSD).
Calculate the HSD statistic
for the Tukey test using the
formula.
Step 4
df = n – k or 15 – 3
df = 12
Expected Result
• Treatment A : Treatment C - 0.79 < 3.77
Assuming that the {There is no significant difference}
procedures are followed
correctly, this the expected
result.
• Treatment B : Treatment C - 3.14 < 3.77
{There is no significant difference}
